This is happening right now to my O2 Crown Victoria I thought it was the safety neutral switch, which fuses and where are they located? that are causing this problem. Thank you for this video.

OMG! I’d been trying to find my vtg washer like this earlier this year! How’d I missed your video? Saul, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH for all this information! Do you (or anyone) know how many gallons this unit holds? And how did you find that out? Is it noted ON the machine somewhere (I’d think it should be, correct?). I’ve got some highly concentrated (& you don’t have to rinse it out), kinda pricey delicate wash solution (but still cheaper than dry cleaning multiple pcs!) that I can’t figure out how much to use because I’ve NO clue how to determine the basket’s “commercial” gallon size (I wanted to do an XL load). I’d contacted Speed Queen to see if they could tell me it’s water capacity, it’s model# & how to get a manual but they weren’t able to help me. Do YOU know answers to my Qs? Mine is 99.9% just like yours except that it has “COMMERCIAL” vs “Marathon” on it. I figured it was probably made sometime in the ‘80s due to the unoffensive color (vs ‘70s avocado or mustard), so your 1990 makes sense. I bought mine in 2000 at a St. Vincent de Paul (SVDP) refurbished appliance store. I’d also bought a dryer at the time & I believe I didn't pay any more that $250 for the both of them together. So! this washer has worked totally fine for me (but I also don’t do laundry ANYwhere as often as your household), no repairs needed, the last 24 yrs I’ve owned it. For a 34 yr old washer, there’s obviously no planned obsolescence built into THIS product! I’ve got a cramped space for my W&D and would sure like to have a stackable W&D for better use of my laundry room space, but then I wouldn’t dare get rid of these old, trusty machines, where they’d end up hogging up precious garage space in storing them. Why hang onto them? Because you can guarantee the newer ones will go kaput at some point, likely sooner than later! (I HAVE seen the newer, modern W&Ds dead & free on curbs & on Craigslist, offered for scrap metal!) And they’re probably so digital now that one (i.e. layperson) couldn’t figure them out to be able to repair them themselves. No thanks! (LOL, I still am on analog tv, too! After seeing so many non working flatscreens also out at the curb, I figured why bother? Am I revealing my generation & age? I’m not yet 70, tho!)

I had to use a 17 mm socket to get the metal peice off and it probably would be best to keep the two screws holding it down in until you get it broke free it took quite a bit of torque for it to break free for anyone else it this spot

Growing up as a child, i would grab a blanket and pillow as my grandma would do laundry and lay up top of the washer and dryer while feeling the warmth of the dryer and the coldness of the washer. My favorite noises would be the spin cycle and the sound of the water filling back up during the rinse cycle. I never knew why i did this and why it brought me so much comfort. I found out recently that it was because i was suffering from major depression and anxiety, and it brought me so much comfort, i felt safe there.

Mmmm… so comforting. In a dimly lit room, curled up in a Cozy, Soft Blanket, on a Cool Evening, listening to this Sound. Forgetting all of Your Troubles, even if only for a moment in time… just feeling, relaxed…

I have a matching 1989 Lady Kenmore Series 90 washer and dryer built by Whirlpool I bought off marketplace. I did a lot of preventative maintenance on the dryer (I got a little carried away), the washer has only had a pump and an agitator cam assembly. I do have to replace the cycle modifier switch since it is a little bit flakey, but I have the part on the way. I plan on fully refurbishing the washer since I pretty much already did the dryer. I want to keep them going forever. I'm surprised the pumps on these old SQ machines are so expensive. The Whirlpool pumps as well as the old Maytag pumps are super easy and cheap for both aftermarket and OEM. Also, the Amana washers and dryers from this time should be the same as your SQ, that might be useful for finding parts down the road, It wasn't until I think the mid 2000s that Whirlpool bought the Amana brand.

I don't know that model specifically, but take a look at the water jacket (and maybe a diagram) before doing it. If you can find gaskets, would be good to pull the jacket so you know exactly where you'd be drilling etc.
