Growing up as a child, i would grab a blanket and pillow as my grandma would do laundry and lay up top of the washer and dryer while feeling the warmth of the dryer and the coldness of the washer. My favorite noises would be the spin cycle and the sound of the water filling back up during the rinse cycle. I never knew why i did this and why it brought me so much comfort. I found out recently that it was because i was suffering from major depression and anxiety, and it brought me so much comfort, i felt safe there.

Can feel the warm bursts of air with each turn …sitting in chair with arms folded and head on them like a pillow the vibration and sound and warmth would have me asleep in a few minutes

On Friday night my mother used to wash clothes after my football game I would shower and curl up by the washing machine and sleep like a baby. 😊
