Hi Shawn, can I ask is there any way to connect NS e-violin to speaker through wireless equipment, such as Bluetooth? Thanks
@ShawnBoucke11 күн бұрын
Totally! You just need a wireless transmitter like the ones I show here. You can find decent ones for under $50 if you don't need to go far away from the amp. They usually use frequencies like 2.4ghz or radio waves instead of Bluetooth though. Is there a model where you can send a signal from one transmitter to two receivers at the same time? I want to split the signal into two speakers (Everse 8) at the same time.
@ShawnBoucke24 күн бұрын
I have not had a chance to try this, but theoretically it should work. I'm not sure how the Swiff and Lekato pick their channels, but something like the Xvive you could set the receivers to the same channel. It could work with the other ones too, but since they seem to search for a connection when turned on, it may set a random channel just for that connection.

@@ShawnBoucke I tried to set it up with Lekato WS-60 (I have 2 sets) and unfortunately it didn't work. I have no way to test whether other models would work. Thank you for your reply.

The one thing I cant get past with electric violin is how....unnatural it sounds? Like, obviously any kind of pickup that's not a microphone strapped to an acoustic is going to sound off, but even with the effects, there's just something that's missing to the sound. At least to my ears
@ShawnBouckeАй бұрын
I agree. When it's live and you have the added resonance of the room, plus adding more layers with a looper it can sound much more natural. Over the compressed audio on KZbin and then out of peoples phones or computers doesn't help.

Such a helpful video - thanks. I have a question re Aura: what images have you found on there that you like? Or how do you load your own images?
@ShawnBouckeАй бұрын
I did upload the violin and viola ones and tested them out. There is an Aura app for the computer than has 600+ other images you can try. I found a few I liked the most. I then went through the other 100+ already on and found that the Dreadnought #7 actually sounded the best to my ears even though it's not "made" for the violin. I was more rounded and surprisingly natural. I cannot remember which violin ones I sometimes switch to but I'll check later.

Did you load your own IR into the Fishman Aura? I'm really curious what settings you used on the Aura.

@@ShawnBoucke Thank you! where did you download the violin and Viola IRs from?
@ShawnBouckeАй бұрын
Since they are proprietary, they are already on the app. I have downloaded some violin IRs from 3 Sigma Audio and used them on my HX stomp, but I liked the Fishman a little more.

Hey Shawn! Can you do a review of this one and the Fortevio electrical violins. And also maybe a comparison between these two and the NS CR? 🎻🎻🎻
@ShawnBouckeАй бұрын
Hey, I don't have the instruments anymore as I sold the previous ones for the Fortevio. Just a quick comparison. The CR model, which is going to be available in six string very soon if not already has a lot of onboard adjustments because it's an active pick up. You can adjust the tone volume and the way the bridge picks up the frequencies to make pizz more clear. The set up with the shoulder rest is really nice and I used a strap with it to keep it up because since it was not touching my collarbone, I did find I was using a bit more shoulder muscle. The one I am playing here from EVL is fantastic for the price. This model is quite a bit heavier than any other ones, and the craftsmanship, better than anything I could ever do falls a bit short compared to the other two I'm comparing it. The brand of pickup from the bridge is the exact same as some other companies use, the violin maker does not make those himself. That could be a good thing as it's interchangeable but it's nothing that is far away different from other companies like Wood. The forteVio is my toppick. The weight of them are extremely light, the sound straight from the instrument is more natural because the maker built his own bridges. And, if you were designing the instrument, you basically can custom make them however you want. it's slightly cheaper EVL price but a lot cheaper than the CR.

This was helpful as I am looking into getting a multi fx pedal. More money = better sound 👍

Sometimes you can get lucky and find something that's cheaper that fits the sound you're going for.

I thought the HX stomp sounded slightly better than the others, with the A1X four coming second place. I would expect with some additional tweaking the A1X four could sound even better. I actually have the A1XFour the one thing I have not managed so far with it, is to create good distortion.

That’s a fiddle, not a violin. A violin has four strings, meanwhile a fiddle has five.
@ShawnBoucke2 ай бұрын
That's incorrect. A fiddle is a violin. Often people will say a fiddle is specifically a violin that plays "fiddle music." also, a five string violins are quite rare. Only recently have people started to use it in popular music as well as fiddle music. However, the C-string never usually rings as well compared to that of a viola.

I feel so much comfortable without any shoulder rest...I do not use my shoulder at all. Only collar bone: free neck, free shouder and you can rotate back and foward your shoulder blades. No marks on neck, no indentation on fingers.

It ran away! I prefer a hollow electric violin because I don't want it to resonate much at all. I can add a pickup to my regular violin but then I hear the sound coming off of it and out of the speaker.

Awesome Demo - the Aura sounds really good. Why did you swap your POG2 for the Digitech Drop? Is it just a better sound? The POG seems like it would be more versatile.
@ShawnBoucke3 ай бұрын
The POG2 is more versatile, but I rarely used octave up and didn't need the filters. The Digitech Drop was the most natural sound of all the ones I tried. The POG series always made the low end very "woof-y." I had to turn off my reverb when using it. I had a pitchfork, but it had a bit more of a digital sound. I tried a Boss and the MXR poly octave but couldn't get a clean sound out of it.
