Cellist here, this it so helpful to see! I also plan to use my SPD kick pad so as soon as you brought yours out I was like yeah this is the guy haha. Also have to agree with you on the NS, my CR6 sounds so much more natural than anything else. Thanks for the great info, subscribed!

This is interesting. I’m a classical musician and have noticed that rock guitarists talk about pedals in terms of a “sound” (although they always call it “tone”) or as a means of inspiring themselves. But in the examples you’ve given, you’re talking about pedals in a musical or compositional way. This was clear in your example of using the violin to play the Bach cello prelude or the using the looper to play the Pachebel canon. (I’m less sure about the use of the fuzz pedal.) The Fishman Aura was remarkable in the positive effect it had on the sound of the violin. Enlightening and intelligent! Just great!

Great Selection of effects! I have a few pedalboard setups that I bounce between, but you and I seem to have several pedals in common in our Eviolin setups. (Boomerang, Carbon Copy Deluxe, Pog (I use to POG/ Pitchfork mostly though) Nice to see someone with similar ideas! Have you thought about adding on a side car?

I actually did finally get it a couple months ago. Here is my current setup with the sidecar instagram.com/p/CjwNv-pJIi2/?

@@ShawnBoucke Lovely. Other than the space, it is hard to go back to the standard Boomerang for me now! I also recently added an expression pedal for loop volume control that doesn't mess up my Dry tone.

I've been debating that, but I so happy with the current layout I don't want to mess with it again for awhile. lol

Sweet video man! I grew up in Minnesota, currently working as a fiddler in Texas. Have you tried the Electroharmonix Bass 9 as an octave pedal? The POG2 seems more versatile but in terms of straight "authentic" acoustic sound I'm curious about a comparison. May have to just buy em both and try it out myself.
@ShawnBoucke2 жыл бұрын
I have not used the bass9 but I've tried the B9. I am mine the pog2 will Be more straight natural sound however possibly the filters in the bass9 will be easier to set. As far as versatility the pitchfork is amazing, but I just never used the other pitch adjustment features.

Hi! Why are you bought fishman di if you using only user presets? It's big different with price
@ShawnBoucke Жыл бұрын
I don't just use the basic presets. I also use the Compressor, tuner, effects loop, add a 3 simultaneous notch filter depending on the situation needed.

I didn’t hear you name the reverb. It sounds nice. What is the make and model?
@ShawnBoucke2 жыл бұрын
Oh, that is from L.R. Baggs. Align series Reverb. It is the nicest one I have ever heard for that natural reverb sound. Nothing super shimmery or wacky, just good quality reverb.

@@ShawnBoucke thanks for the quick reply. I left Detroit years ago and played with the Charlotte Symphony for 17 years. Also did many recording sessions and free lance stuff. In the last 6 years I have gravitated to playing amplified and so am still learning the electronic side of music. I did see, on my phone, a way ti het to your description/ write-up, and did see your list of pedals.

Have you tried the Meris Polymoon pedal?
@ShawnBoucke2 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that yet. I don't use some of those effects too much like flanger and tremolo. I did adjust my board a bit since this video. I added a second looper that adds functions to the current one, and then swapped out the fuzz pedal for a zoom multi-effects to get any extra distortion sounds. The one things I would love is a smart harmonizer, but the bowed strings tend to get a little wacky on pedals that require more monophonic sounds.

i need an clarinet effect pedal please, which one you suggest me?
@ShawnBoucke Жыл бұрын
Do you mean one that will help make the violin sound like a clarinet or a pedal that works for a mic'ed clarinet/electric wind instrument?
@learn_german_with_mina Жыл бұрын
@@ShawnBoucke i mean, it makes the violin sound like clarnet please
@ShawnBoucke Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure there is anything specifically like that. It would have to adjust the overtones in a way that I can't think of what would work. My best guess would be some sort of synth pedal like the boss sy-1 or one of the EHX pedals like Mel9, or B9 which will give you a more organ sound you can then adjust with an eq to get as close to the tone as possible you're looking for.

Look how muck I spend on this pedalboard
@ShawnBoucke Жыл бұрын
That's exactly why I explain at the beginning that the purpose is not about the cost of the pedals, but why dedicated pedals are used in comparison to multi effects. I review multi effects shortly too and review their benefits.
