Have you done a demonstration with tucking woven loop pile carpet against ceramic tile? I'm tucking in 4 doorways to tile. My tackstrip is positioned 5/16" away from the tile. The carpet is 5/16" thick. The top of the tackstrip sets about 1/16 " lower than the tile. If I position the tackstrip closer to the tile, the carpet makes a sharper bend into the gully and the grinning worse. There was an intentional gap left when the plywood was installed, so there is a lot of room to tuck the carpet edge down into.... I can cut the carpet 3/8" long and still tuck that much into the gully. Im doubled my 3/4" wide tackstrip along the tile edge, all walls and around door casings. 40 oz wool pad is being used. Metal or other trims will not be allowed in this very nice 2nd home. You guys are great. I love your attention to detail. 👍

Can the same methods be applied to a loop carpet or does it require a bit more tact

So he hooks the carpet onto the gripper and then puts a right angle crease in it by knocking it into the corner and then that crease is the cutting guide? I’ve struggled so much previously but will give it a try. Thank you for this video.

I'm using 9 mm underlay with a 9 mm thick carpet. Would 6 mm Ply be okay for raising the door bar or would 9 mm be better to match the underlay thickness??

Hey 👋...quick question...I've done stairs a few times before and done an OK job for a woman. Could you tell me what it is you're doing before laying with the edge? Do u cut few ml over and fold the edges in? This is the only bit I struggle with. Can never get that proffesional finish on the edges . I'm fitting Friday so replay ASAP please 😂 x
@TrimTuckCarpets
@TrimTuckCarpets 3 ай бұрын
Cut it a few mm extra. Also leave the underlay a few mm short of the edges. Then crimp the edges of the carpet. So it has like a permanent crease. That should do the trick.

Use to be unique. Not any more . In my 35 years of carpet installation, runners were done on wide stairs , they are merely an Instagram post nowadays. Must stairs cases are too narrow for runners . Put they are dust and dirt magnets . I’m spending time now covering runners with traditional fully fit stairs. Also cost is a factor, here in Ireland binding stairs are more expensive, plus in most cases the ulay isn’t reusable. Pros and Cons always. 🇮🇪🇮🇪

Film in widescreen, to avoid screen wastage. Better picture, plus people have the choice of which way to watch it, if you give them full quality with a widescreen video.
