How is the exhaust set up on your truck? I hear so many of these IDIs that sound like gasser engines in the higher RPM band. I HATE that sound. Yours sounds like how I'd expect a diesel to sound. I've got a C-600 Cabover that I'd like to swap a 7.3 IDI into but if I can't figure out how to make it sound like a diesel 100% of the time, I won't be going that route.

Short shifting by a lot. Sounds like your shifting at 3,500. The 460 can easily handle 5,500 rpm and power shifting will help a lot in 0-60 times The 460 can sing bud ,shift just before valve float, it’s a ford it can take it.💪

I believe the receiver is Aluminum. Super Blue won’t work on that.

Hey, which ATS kit is this and when will it spoil under normal driving conditions? I have a ‘93 7.3 and I swear it doesn’t spoil until 23-2500 rpm and I really gotta be in it. Even then it only sees 4-5psi max

Hey man, nice truck and nice pulls. What turbo kit did you put on it? Lookin at a stock 6.9idi right now for a tow rig and would rather not have to shell out the 3300 for the sidewinder kit if theres a cheaper way to get it together haha

Just bought a 84. 7.3. dude couldnt get it the motor to turn over, unplugged the injectors and got a 10ft cheater bar for 20 minutes. turned it over and driving it around still. bought it for 800 bucks

I am guessing there is no silencer on your ATS? Mine is not removable. It sucks. To quiet.
