For people who don't know Hamlet... So Ophelia (red) and Laertes (green) are siblings, and Ophelia's in love with Hamlet (blue). Everything's fine until Hamlet accidentally murders Ophelia and Laertes' father. When they learn this, the siblings break in opposite directions - Ophelia, consumed by grief, drowns herself in the river, and Lartes, consumed by anger, challenges Hamlet to a duel in which both of them die. I think the song is inspired by Hamlet more than about Hamlet, though. When someone close to you hurts you in a way that can't be healed, what do you do? Which direction do you break? The singer is addressing Hamlet, but they aren't sure yet whether they're playing Ophelia or Laertes or somehow both - and does it really matter which if they know both roles end in dying?

Gosh I love this song so much!! Your voice is beatiful and I'm obsessed with complicated love stories and the theme of loyalty. Also, this gave me the motivation to rewrite a part of my story that I didn't really like so thank you for this masterpiece:D One more thing, could I use this song for an animatic with my OCs? With credit, of course. It might not happen, I just wanna make sure in case I suddenly find the motivation and time for a big project
