Man, wish you had more traction. Just came across your channel, and looking at how unpractical doing a Ubiquiti system would be for home use, but would be fun to implement. Hope all is going good and hope to see some new stuff at some point.

You need a console to bridge a network? That's rich. Why not "standalone" for a backyard apartment?

It better to hide all the wires and the hub. don't forget will need a bypass override, if system fails, and power backup.

The AT&T fiber to the business is most likely dedicated fiber which justifies the price and construction buildout for a single customer. Dedicated fiber is a lot different than shared fiber for residential developments.

Honestly, you are one of the main people that gave me confidence in getting this system and configuring it myself 2 years ago. Now my home has 4 unifi cameras and 3 AP's. Matter of fact my best friend saw what i had and got the same ecosystem. Because its user friendly and no additional subscription cost.

Thank you that means a lot. I get frustrated with tech stuff really, really easily. Like I get pissed off and give up real quick. I just want stuff to work. I wanted a security system that was easy to use but I had no idea anything like this was out there. It believe in this stuff. I believe in the fact it's 100% yours. You don't need help and you own everything. Everything auto updates and if I want to add something I just buy it and plug it in. It's the last network setup I'll ever need. I have favorite brands of everything in my life and now that I'm forced to embrace technology because I'm old I'm glad I found Ubiquiti's stuff. I purchased a $500 security system off of Amazon before I bought this. It was a total waste. I left the cameras up as a visual deterrent. They never worked lol. Thanks again for the comment and have a great holiday =)

I think they've updated/changed the UI of the Design portal, and I get a different webpage entirely. I mostly don't get the coverage feature I'm looking for, so weird. It's like Im getting a mobile device version... Did they change something recently? No heat map! wtf
@lonewolfdiy

To be honest with you I don't pay a lot of attention to the updates. Now that my network is setup I just forget about it. I have cameras to check out and wifi when I need it. Every now and again I'll pop on for something I need and they're be a bunch of new stuff I've never seen or I don't understand. Everything I need the Ubiquiti stuff for works, but it's when I help a friend or family member with their setup I discover all the changes. What I can say is that I do all my filming on the spot. I don't script what I do. When I have to learn something really quick to help get the network up and running I'm so happy Ubiquiti's equipment is basically on autopilot lol. It really helps me to not look like an asshole. It's very user friendly and most of it sets up on it's own. If I push enough button and fiddle around with the settings I can figure it out until next time lol. If you need more deep dive tech info from a real IT pro I would highly recommend checking out @MactelecomNetworks or @CrosstalkSolutions. These guys are very knowledgeable and they make great content. Thanks for checking out the show =)

I can understand that. What I will say is I didn't notice any difference when I was collecting the raw footage from the cameras. It looked the same as what I said in the video. Maybe I'll do a new version and make sure to add everything I've learned from what people have shared with me regarding the cameras. Thanks for taking the time to watch the episode regardless.

I'm glad you dig the channel thank you 😊 They lighting I use is from Govee. The Govee DreamView is what you're seeing in the video. All of the lights can be programmed together and you can create certain groups to do custom effects. For the price it's a really fun upgrade and you can get all this stuff off of Amazon. Just make sure you have a great WiFi signal that is strong enough to run them! Like Ubiquiti can!

Question: Does the POE to USB-C adapter also send/receive data or is it only for power? Would you still need connect the doorbell via WiFi if you go that route?

I'm not sure to be honest. I have mine connected to a standard doorbell transformer for now and everything is wifi. I've had no issues collecting data.
