It’s cool the Field Jacket liner is trending with the current generation. I was first introduced to field jackets, and the field jacket liner, when I reported to Officer Candidates School, Marine Corps Base Quantico, in January 1993. It was freezing and that field jacket, and liner, made life just a little bit more bearable. Fellas, check out the 100% wool, Marine Corps “woolly pulley” sweater. I predict that’s the next military uniform item, the hipsters, and fashion influencers, will embrace. Between these and Lofgren's, though I like the Lofgren's too... I chose to get these. There's something about the aesthetic. The way it leans forward a bit, how the vamp stitching to the upper has this exaggerated low curve... Yeah I just slightly prefer the look of these to the Lofgren's. Question, if you wear a shirt that is made to fade underneath a jacket, will it fade quicker or less? For example, I have a sashiko shirt on, and I am wondering if wearing a jacket on top will cause it to fade more or differently. I work at a desk all day, so I get solid wear marks on the elbows and fore arms. If I wear a jacket on top, while at my desk , Im sure I wont get those same wear marks. But, will the shirt fade more on the shoulders or body ? This is a new shirt so I have little knowledge on the subject.
@themancaveclub28 күн бұрын
One can only assume it would fade less under a jacket. To the best of my knowledge, two things contribute to fading the most: washing and sunlight.

I would love "Urban Flannels." Most flannels are made for country living, with Western pockets and loud plaids, for people who ride motorcycles and fix cars. On a NYC subway, flannels don't work, unless you're in construction in your full work gear. For example, an "urban flannel" could also be "Made in Japan" with real indigo, short spread collars and no pockets whatsoever. Plaids would be elegant, stealthy, but still captivating. With most plaids, color and pattern isn't intentional but an afterthought. In a chaotic city, plaids become another form of noise. One designer doing plaids well is Paul Smith but it's not gauze, not slub, and lacking the obsessive Japanese attention to detail.
@themancaveclubАй бұрын

John did eventually get his pair of Keystones. The owner’s name is Mr. Okuyama, and he is a big chopper enthusiast, therefore the structured toe. The last shape is actually based on a 50s Chippewa, which I saw while I was visiting him. The two features that set them aside is the flex insole and the fact that they don’t use gemming for the welt, rather they carve a channel directly on the insole. These are not hand-lasted or hand-welted thats why the price can be lower, but not the quality. It’s recommended not to put in an extra insole.

@themancaveclub2 ай бұрын
I would say they’re about the same, maybe the pass through is a tad bit narrower than the FH boot. If you go on Brogue shop’s web page- you’ll see he recommends a stretcher for the pass through. My foot slips through when I put them on but, I can’t get them off without using a boot jack to pull them. But, that’s the trade off for them fitting so well!!

I love biker wallet, in my country I still withdraw cash and pay with paperbill and coins so there is still a real purpose carrying a wallet with big capacity like biker wallet, but what I love the most is how this wallet deforms and how the leather stretch and turns into unique shape after being worn in back pocket for years I've worn mine since 2019 started as natural and now has turned into caramel tone, and leather strap does add coolness to any pants, but I need jeans with higher back pocket so I don't sit on the wallet , but jeans with higher back pocket looks great anyway.
