Great write up. The CR-V being level (as you stated ) is very IMPORTANT. Also very, very IMPORTANT Fluid Temperature is EVERYTHING when checking the fluid level via the check bolt after you have refilled the transmission. Avoid the step of having to add fluid during the check bolt procedure after refilling by adding (over filling) a half quart more than you removed. Get the engine and transmission temp up to operating temperature by having the fans kick on and off twice , go through the gears pausing for a couple seconds on each , do this twice then shut the car off and quickly get that check bolt off, let it drain to a light trickle then insert the bolt and to torque to spec. ( IR thermometer is handy for checking that the fluid was within normal operating temp 175 -195 Deg like a 10 mile average drive temp ) If the fluid is not at this temp and the cars gears were not just ran through, just prior to shutting the car off the level of the fluid will be incorrect. Wait to long and the transmission pan collects the fluid as it drains back into the pan , if the fluid is too cold (Cold fluid is more dense, takes up less space) and you fill until it leaks out you will be overfilled.

Wow, as easy as an oil change. Question, Is that crush washer the same size as the one on the oil drain plug? And does a ratchet extension fit onto that drain plug? Or some large allen wrenck? Ty

You really had my attention when you started with that particular tool set and the hub still in the knuckle. ( The set obviously does not have the pieces that are necessary to remove the hub. Evertough 67213 and OEM Tools 27213 have those pieces. ) It all came together for me when you brought out a socket and hammer. From that point, I could see where you were going with all the various tool pieces and hub and bearing removal / installation challenges. The realization that the inner lip of the knuckle will not allow access to push out the outer bearing race is unspeakable. I remain a bit uncomfortable about using the spindle nut to finish the compression of the hub into the bearing. The rear of the inner bearing is not being supported at that point, and the action focuses a great deal of force onto the threads of the spindle nut and axle threads.

Great video! Super detailed and excellent camera views. I have a 2022 CRV EX AWD and I noticed by perusing some Honda parts websites that various replacement part numbers are different than what you use on your 2017 FWD. I'm not ready to do a filter change yet but for those who do make sure you have the right parts in advance. For example, the filter assembly in the main body has a different part number. Going directly to the Honda website to look up parts is probably best because you can see actual assembly diagrams with parts identified. Some of the other parts websites put out by various Honda dealers seem to have much more limited selection and they do not have the diagrams.
Thanks, great video ! I have the same shift knob. Any suggestions on how to remove it ? Wanting to add an extension. I will be using your method to get the knob straight after removal.
