Hey Paul, how come you're not getting any bite from the Glass Drop bracket using a Beernet 5.0 (127mm) and Caguamas (58mm wide)? I've tried to run a DT Poppy at 143mm with 85mm Seismic Speed Vents (52mm wide) and the similarly "fat" Carbon Feather V2 Longboard bracket and the front wheels were definitely getting bitten by the bracket on deeper pumps. The G-bomb site says "Regarding hanger width. Since the composite series a bit wider, expect to run hangers around 150mm width." Are you using harder duro bushings to avoid that, washers, or something else? Thanks for the great content, as always!

Hi, I notice some Ldp set ups have the harder bushing in the RS and some like you, have the harder bushing in the BS. What is the difference? My setup has 80a cone RS and 75a tall barrel BS. I’m thinking of switching things up this season
@beernettskatesystems4185
@beernettskatesystems4185 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, In theory you better put the harder bushing BS. A cone feels slightly softer with more lean angle when compared to a barrel. Barrels also give more rebound but with less lean angle. If it feels ok for you then it is ok. Testing different shapes and duros are always good to find what feels best for you.

Hi Paul ! Nice video ! I'm running with DT Bhangers (with spherical in the pivot and stock bushings) on the front and Slalocybin on the back, both on a topmount (ldp 38 bossa boards). Sometimes I feel like I can't reach a higher speed with this setup. Do you think I can go faster with poppys on the front or even Rool trucks ?
@beernettskatesystems4185
@beernettskatesystems4185 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliment! Try to change the angle of Slalocybin towards 0°. What can also work is a wider front axle. In theory a Poppy is faster but I prefer the feel of a TKP
@leonardoramidan
@leonardoramidan 2 жыл бұрын
@@beernettskatesystems4185 I already tried the Slalocybin's angle at 0º, 20º, 15º, and maybe another number, but I found 15º the best choice for both speed and a little bit of low torque, resulting in a better overall speed. Actually the Bhanguer is set to 143mm and the Slalocybin to 131mm. I will change my set of 77a BigZig wheels to 85mm Speed Vent and see if at some point I can try out the Poppy or Rool trucks. You said "in theory Poppy is faster", so do you think they are really faster or in fact there isn't a big difference ?

@beernettskatesystems4185
@beernettskatesystems4185 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kudos! The flex has a really firm rebound without being too stiff. It sort of pops back and that feels very nice with pumping. However it is the older Pulse it still feels great. I guess the new version is built with the same layering but you better ask Subsonic themselves.

@@beernettskatesystems4185 Thanks! I've been pressing my own LDP decks out of baltic birch and fiberglass and that snappy rebound is exactly what I'm trying to get. I should save up and get one of these so I can have a benchmark to work towards. How does your setup handle around 20MPH (32km/h)? I've been worried about using TKP because I live in Colorado and all my LDP routes have some mild downhill. I've heard that the progressive turning on TKP trucks can make downhill riding significantly less stable?
@beernettskatesystems4185
@beernettskatesystems4185 2 жыл бұрын
Good that you press your own decks! Interesting! I never reach speeds above 22km/h. Sometimes on a slope shortly 35km/h but that feels stable. If you have the correct bushing/angle combo it is ok.

Would it be silly to get this setup just for general fun distance pushing? My daughter has been getting way into scootering so I’ve gotten back into pushing a longboard to go with her. We’ve been doing maybe 4-5 miles a day lately. Anyways, my issue is that a nice commuter board like a pantheon all kitted out and shipped is about half as much as this gbomb/rocket setup. Is it so specialized though that it just doesn’t feel great outside of racing?

Why do you use the Glass Drop if your angle is 13°? Wouldn’t the SDF be the lighter choice?
@beernettskatesystems4185
@beernettskatesystems4185 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Niclas. The SDF is lighter indeed. The Glass drop is slightly lower in ride height and sometimes I change the angle a few degrees. Also the Glass drop brings the truck slightly closer to your front foot which results in slightly easier pumping.

Another great video! How to combat the low ride/occasional bottom scraping when using a torsion tail when pumping ? I try to use technique, knowing what angles are too “deep” and will result in bottoming out...but I love those aggressive pumps!!! I am currently running 76mm Venom Cannibals, but I have tried Orangatang Caguama 85mm, but still have the same problem...is just the nature of the torsion tail to be low?
