Brilliant! I didn't know there was a vacuum canister, so I followed the vacuum hose and found out that it had fallen off. Got it reattached and everything works again. THANKS! got a 1998 4.0 XJ

I know I’m years late to the party, but is the damage mastery worth it? Is there really that much of a change in the amount of times you one tap enemies?

I lost good A/C last summer in my 91. Still cooled but not as good as it was. I did notice that driving down the freeway if I started to pull a incline the vent would switch to the defrost. I did a test on the vacuum line, but I still felt it was in the vacuum system since the freon level was good. Going to replace valves and check the lines closer now. Thanks for the video! George.

Mine went green, not yellow on my 2011 Subaru STi when i tested it on the tank on the highest point, but it didnt get yellow or green on the pressuretank or radiator….what does that mean? Ive got oil in my coolant tank though, but my Car does not overheat, i dont have coolant in the oil, only oil in the coolant. Ive checked the oilcap, no "sludge" or wear that indicates headgasket issue….hmmm. I also did a "Compression test" a trick i learned from a Subaru guy, and he Said, when the Car is turned off, push the clutch pedal all the way down with the gas pedal, then try to start the Car, the Car won’t start, but the Car should make Even noise, and if it doesnt, when it makes uncosistent noise, then i got a leak. When i did that test, it seemed very normal and had even noise….sorry for my english, but i hope you understand me:-) hope for a reply.

At 1:30 where he says tighten it until it touches, he should then use a hex wrench and tighten one turn. That is stated in the instructions. The purpose of this clamp is to hold the spring in place. One big issue in the instructions, you should be using a T25 Plus Torx. Not a standard T25 Torx.

I run the 8/71. On my rat moter. Big deal on pistons. And rods. Heads also. Pick the right combination . Stock is to risky. In the advertisement it says extensive modification needed. Wiend wasn't kidding. Yep. Carbs on a normal moter dont work correctly need to modify them also. Yep makes a small moter into a monster. LOL good video.

Outstanding Video! You did a wonderful job of explaining what was happening and why. It was a great tutorial on vacuum systems. I sure hope my problem is that check valve on the intake because of accessibility 🙂

So at the check valve at the manifold, air should be allowed to flow into the manifold and not backwards?
@PhysifistEngineering
@PhysifistEngineering Жыл бұрын
Yes, the engine is creating the vacuum that is needed to run vacuum accessories. Without the check valve, all the vacuum you built up would go right back into the engine and you'd lose accessory function.

They allow the system to hold a vacuum by only allowing the air to flow one way.

Well um I think I found my HVAC control issue 👍🏻 That T where it goes to the firewall with the check valve inline, my line is missing from where it gets thinner after the T down to about 2-3 inches from the firewall. No check valve left unfortunately
