It sounds great you should be pretty damn proud of that built I have a 1985 with a big block but it has a powerglide in it and it's mainly a track car it runs 950 on the motor I love when people do things that others tell them they can't

How much horsepower did it make im building a stroker with all.of John Kaase stuff basically his 1100 on motor build with his new head design should make 1500 on spray with glide.

Procar by Scat. You can get them in vinyl or velour in a ton of different colors. And they make brackets to mount into fox bodies.
@PhysifistEngineering4 жыл бұрын
I just put a pair of grey velours in my '95 Jeep Cherokee as well. You can get them in standard size or XL which is a little wider. Jegs, Summit, even Amazon.

Show that bad boy under the hood, and clutch hookup begins that big block.
@PhysifistEngineering4 жыл бұрын
I used the factory clutch cable. At the bellhousing I welded a small plate with a hole in it for the end of the clutch cable to sit in. I used a HD 5.0 clutch fork, and a Lakewood 460/tremec bellhousing.

Thank you for getting back to me. I was thinking about putting a big block in my 84 convertible, but I didn't want to have a 4 inch scoop, or go to an automatic. I love driving a stick car.

@@prophet409 The big block torque hit you get every time you shift...it's the best feeling.

nice build. I'm having issues with the clutch cable melting on the headers. I'm running the 460 with hooker super comp long tubes.
@PhysifistEngineering8 жыл бұрын
I used spark plug fiberglass boots around the clutch cable where it passes by the header. That worked well.
@railbosshonda8 жыл бұрын
I will definitely try that today. That's after I pull my trans out again to install a longer clutch fork so that the clutch cable isn't at such an angle/cutting into my quick time bell housing

I have some questions about the build, namely what brand k member did you go with?
@stwhite51357 жыл бұрын
I think it's great that you built it so you could use the stock hood. I would see no need for a stick shift with the BBF engine. But that's just my opinion. This is a very good build.
@PhysifistEngineering7 жыл бұрын
St White You just don't like sticks?
@stwhite51357 жыл бұрын
No I drive a stick. They're fun. It's just that with all the power of a BBF you don't need a stick to wring every ounce of power out of the engine. And especially if you're going to race it a properly set up auto will beat a manual every time. I'm not criticizing your car. Please don't get that idea. I love the way you take on a challenge and conquer it.
@PhysifistEngineering7 жыл бұрын
St White Autos are great for drag racing, but I don't drag race anymore, and manual transmissions are a lot of fun when combined with all that torque. Also, it's nice having overdrive and the ability to track the car where an automatic would be useless.

What clutch fork did you use? I'm using the pre 1994. I'm going to try the 1994-95 since it's an inch or so longer. My clutch cable is cutting into my quick time bell housing. The cable is angled bad
@PhysifistEngineering8 жыл бұрын
if I remember it was the HD version of the factory 87 to 93. My bellhousing didn't have a provision for the cable so I fabricated a bracket.
