In 1958, the crooks landed a Sikorsky S-58 on the roof of the Planet building. Twenty years later, the Planet’s own Bell Jet Ranger would land there.

Lol! Superman takes the bullets but dodges the gun thrown at him. At that flying "speed" his eyes don't blink much. Missed all that when I watched the show.

Superman is so over the top that a man hiding his identity with nothing other than thick frame glasses isn't ever an issue. I've never had to reintroduce myself to anyone simply because I removed or put on my glasses.

They gave Superman big stuff to do in season two. It was the best season of the series. And none of it would have worked without the great George Reeves. Thank you, George. You gave millions of kids the gift of hope.

Interesting to see the repair job on the underarm area as he flies away at the end of the video. And I have to say, while Noel Neill was the definitive Lois, Phyllis Coates was a strikingly attractive woman.

George Reeves was truly wonderful‼️His portrayal of Kent was so incredible that I think he made Clark Kent the the best/coolest nerd of all time‼️I honestly think I'd rather have a beer with Kent then Superman, but neither of them drink‼️😉🇺🇲📺

The "Season One" Superman seldom smiled, if ever. From Season Two and on he was kinder, gentler, more kid-friendly. S1 for me is the best season by far.

00:53 *Maybe that they used the device on "Season 1", they explained that they started to used it on the "second season" but it would be possible that this was used in the first place maybe they used it "once" and they started using it everytime on "season 2".*

On 04:33 the thing i noticed for a long time that when *"Superman flys there are white lines" on Superman's arm, chest, head, and foot.* I still don't understand because when the *"Color Series" appeared i can still see the lines but instead of "green" it was white.* I really understand that they used "Green Screen" back then i still wanna find more informations on this white lines.

@ClaudeSpeedGTA3 From 1990 until 2001 I published a little magazine called The Adventures Continue. For issue #6, Paul Mandell wrote an article on how they made Superman fly in which he explains the reason for the white outline. If you care to, write to me at the email address on my website (www.jimnolt.com) and I'll share that with you.

And at the outro, I love the way that they say "as appearing in Superman magazine" instead of "as appearing in the Superman comic books." I still recall my first Batman magazine that I ever bought. It was sold in the same area as the magazines of the day. I still have it in my collection, worn and tattered, as I read it over and over again.

We had a stunt coordinator working in a factory with me years ago after being injured on a stunt. All this baloney about doing their own stunts is nonsense. The stuntmen's union wouldn't allow it, movies are shot out of order, so a tiny scar in 1 scene might not be there in a different part of the same scene shot later, and a slight or major injury could cost the studio a fortune in paying people to sit around while the actor heals, if he does.

Adventures of Superman (a.k.a. Superman and The Adventures of Superman), which was a syndicated program, rather than being tied to a network series. It first aired on different syndicated TV stations from September 19, 1952 to April 28, 1958. ABC-TV aired episodes in its "Fun At Five" series from October 2, 1957 to September 24, 1958, during the 1957-58 season. Following cancellation, producers planned to continue Adventures of Superman in 1959 with two more years' worth of episodes, to begin airing in the 1960 season. It was later seen in syndicated reruns on various local stations, starting in 1965 during the 60’s and 70’s, when all the episodes were reshown in color. It was then later ran on WWOR-TV (channel 9) from 1987 to 1991, during the late 80’s and early 90’s, and they also ran a Thanksgiving marathon called “Superman Festival” featured selected episodes of Superman, and it was hosted by Jack Larsen, who played Jimmy Olson in the TV program. And what they did, they showed unrestored prints of the original show, before it went into restoration. These episodes that WWOR-TV aired came from 16mm film chain copies. Then it was aired on both Nickelodeon and Nick@Nite from September 20, 1991 to September 3, 1995. It was reran on TV Land from 2000 to 2004. Then was reran on Saturday evenings on Me-TV from September 6, 2014 to September 10, 2016. The series also aired weekdays on Heroes & Icons digital subchannels.

IMO, there are moments in this show when the characters, like Lois or Jimmy--especially Jimmy--seemed like they knew Kent was Superman. It seemed to be a wink and nod to each other, as if the characters knew it would be a real bad idea if his identity was revealed. I wish I had the opportunity to ask Jack Larson or either Loises if that knowledge--as the character--was in their subtext. What great acting for a kid's show. My favorite of all time. Thanks for the post!

Well, Jimmy WAS a cub reporter. And he was often brave in later years, traveling with Lois to protect her. Yes, that knife appears to actually be thrown. I wonder if that, in addition to George falling to the ground from those cables, resulted in the removal of Danny Hays in favor of Si Simonson. I also thought it was funny that Superman was the announcer at 2:05. They couldn't get anyone else? .And did you notice that the clouds at 1:26 were wallpaper ? LOL

What I enjoyed was the way that Clark Kent seemed to always find a way to hint at his secret identity without either confirming or denying that he was Superman, in the "Adventures Of Superman" TV series at the end of each episode of the series. Of course we the audience felt like we were with Superman / Clark Kent when it came to his jokes.

I loved watching Superman as a young girl. Born in 1953 and never missed an episode. I thought George Reeves made the best Superman of all the characters who played Superman. I still watch the reruns every Saturday at 9 am 4! episodes and Sunday at 11 am 4 episodes. I also read every comic book issued. Wish I never threw those comics out after reading. Thanks for the memories. RIP George. You truly was a great actor. You will be missed.
