George Reeves as Superman did fly Ann Carson (Judy Nugent) around the world in "Around The World With Superman," and although Ann gave him many admiring looks, Superman was not rewarded with a kiss.

Watched these growing up in the early 60s. Rewatching them on digital broadcast TV. Many of the stories are quite clever, even if the criminals are far from comic book icons. Reeves was fine as Superman. As young Olsen might say, "Jeepers, I had a swell time."

When Superman appeared on "I Love Lucy", Lucy and Desi decided the story line would have to treat him as if the character was real, so as not to upset all the kids. So it counts as part of the Superman Universe, plus a great bar bet I have won for years: "George Reeves appeared as Superman on two series, name both" - no one ever recalls him on Lucy. In several of the early Superman episodes, you can see the Mayberry Courthouse, for instance the one with the Molemen. No sign of Barney Fife though.

I grew up with George Reeves as Superman, but I also love both George Reeves and Chris Reeves as both are Superman in my eyes, both gave the character a different perspective on the superhero….i will always be their biggest fan. I see them as they are both with what an alien might be if they had grown up on Earth, wary of being discovered and becoming something other than one helping in saving lives and protecting people from dangerous situations, no matter what the cost or what they happen to be. George and Chris both brought something unique to their characters and for me they are both Superman. Even after his accident, Chris was even Superman in real life by bringing awareness to others, people including kids, who are suffering from paralysis and depression. His presence at interviews and functions showed a courage beyond his own personal trauma and helped bring hope and courage to many suffering from illnesses, and especially paralysis such as his own and in continuing research to help find a solution for better treatments and recovery from neurological damage that others and that he himself had faced. RIP GEORGE and CHRIS, may your legacies continue to inspire and give hope to others, may you both rest In peace in God’s eternal heaven….👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Wow, this channel is by the great Jim Nolt... of The Adventures Continue. Glad to see he's still doing cool Superman stuff! Anyway, I had the good luck of meeting Robert Shayne in the late 1980s at the SD Con. I got the inspector's autograph, and he said to his daughter (grandaughter?), "Aw, he's probably just gonna sell it somewhere!" But I quickly said, "No way!" And I still have it to this day.
