Сомнительно то, что можно одноручным оружием отклонить ударом палку удерживаемую двумя руками. Как отвлекающее действие подойдёт, для дальнейшей работы щитом.

I don't even really teach this to my students due to the lockup risk if executed incorrectly. But potentially as the attacker you could just do first strike and if they block with the shield you could step to the side of the opponents shield, lock their shield with the edge of yours while sliding your sword below their shield and strike the shield hands shoulder

So simple, but so effective. It seems to be similar to boxing in that you don't really intend to land the first strike, bit that sets up the strikes that will land.

I'm just wondering, no helmets or protective gear.. Are you pulling the swings a lot? because those are still metal weapons.
@ulriksommer
@ulriksommer 11 ай бұрын
Yes, we kind of do. You are supposed to be able to train in shorts and t-shirts, wearing only gloves for protection. You will have to accept the occational hard hit though.
@rollio8791
@rollio8791 11 ай бұрын
@@ulriksommer I understand, I was just kind of surprised because we train a bit differently, with softer weapons but no pulled swings (except no hits near the face to get used to it for later), or more experienced guys with gear on with metal weapons with no pulled swings. I was just curious because I saw some swings on the other video really close to the face and I was worried for peoples eyes and teeth :D

@@rollio8791 There's always the possibility of accident of course but we (the Finnish guys in this video) at least train very safety and precision first. There's been no serious head shots in last 6-7 years with our 100+ fighters and only one in the whole Finnish scene I can remember of now (and even that was just few stitches on the eye lid). Most of these fighters are wearing cups, knee protection and elbow protection though under their clothes.

Where is your face protection? This is a neat idea, but there are good reasons combative sports are practiced with protective gear.
@jsp4eve
@jsp4eve Жыл бұрын
the face isn't a target zone. Without protection, the technique and control of the weapon becomes the most important focus. Also this is a style developed so we can give the most accurate as possible representation of history towards our own and public on events. Offcourse there is also the full protection kind of fighting , then we focus more on pure form of the martial arts, with the whole body as target zone.
@rollio8791
@rollio8791 11 ай бұрын
@@jsp4eve I understand that, but even at the start of the video I see the weapon way too close to the face ( @00:29 ) . If the swing was faster some teeth could be flying, I understand the focus, but I feel it's a bit dangerous. Nice videos tho, no hate here, just concern. :)
@BernasLL
@BernasLL 23 күн бұрын
@@jsp4eve And other than not using a mask, is there a reason the face isn't a target zone? Because you could remove unnecessary artifacts in your fighting, and keep things more safe for the people you have responsibility over, by wearing masks.
