Hello. How did u get racechrono pro to read coolant, oil, throttle and brake telemetry. I have a new racebox mini S for GPS and a OBD link MX+ scanner plug in obd2. I cant seem to get them to show, i can see them in the settings of fast and slow channels but cant get it. My car is 2020 with fbw throttle
@lucas0108883 ай бұрын
@sotsstuff33 I couldn't tell you for Racebox sorry. The PID for brake pressure is 0x 21 41 Then there is an equation that is used to convert the reading to percentage brake pressure. You should be able to find some reference material on various 86/BRZ forums though.

@craigline4760 if it helps, the SP-01R did grip well but nothing above the RE71RS (80TW vs "200"TW). The SP-01R was reasonably predictable, however, 2 push laps and they fell off a cliff in terms of grip. Just overheated. And they wear really quick, so bang for buck wasn't quite there for me to recommend/use again.

Camera was overheating so didn't capture any laps driven in anger. I've just made public footage of the Switchback during passenger laps, giving some pointers on how to get around QR in general. If you go to my channel, it should be there. Brake markers are tricky heading into it but the key thing is slowing up more than you think for the first left hander.

@lucas010888 Жыл бұрын
I can't comment on a comparison with the Vbox options, as I have not used any of their gear before. But, if you're after some simple telemetry and overlaid video footage, I can't fault the RaceChrono approach. For the price, it meets my needs. The dongle will give you access to whatever parameters you're car will share. You can even configure custom PIDs if you know the port and formula to interpret the data (e.g. the brake pressure data isn't served up natively but I have added for the BRZ I have).

@@FairladyS130 you'd think that, but here we are. If a car (me) is setting a faster lap time compared to them, then that makes me the faster car. You'd know that power does not maketh the lap time if you're getting 60s at LS. Any pleb can hit the throttle down the straight. The correct thing for them to do is to let the faster car past - as this was a Sprints event, not door to door racing.

@redsiput44 I'm not entirely sure why the recommendation would be to set to 1Hz, since the polling rate would be no different to your phone's GPS. @lucas0108882 жыл бұрын
Study the layouts in advance, then study them some more, visualise them, then study again. Almost guarantee when you set off on the first run you'll forget where to go, the red mist descends and you get brain fog. As for driving it, smooth is fast but finding the right balance of being on the limit and not going past it (sliding is slow, generally speaking). Brake into the corner and into the apex under brakes to keep the front tucked in, then depending on the corner, feed the power in as you're unwinding the steering lock. You'll basically get into 2nd gear and stay in it the entire run. Some layouts may have you sacrificing the exit of one corner to get a better run into the next. So, you might exit shallow to give you a wider turn in for the next section.
