Hello Simon, not sure if you are still using this Pete Millett Sw and 8903. I wanted to share that I just enabled this in 2024 on windows 10, using VEE 9.33 and IO Lib 16.0.14518.0. I'm using the Beiming S82357 which I got a few years back off ebay when the original 82357 was just too expensive. Works great. Also since you mention around minute 8:00 the vertical axis resolution of the different graphs I wanted to share the trick to click with your mouse on the y-Axis label (or x-axis label for the matter) such as "Level (dB)" and a new pop up window will allow you to adjust the range of the axis.

I really enjoyed watching these then they first came out. Now that I've got my own RP75, do you know where I could find or buy the manual that covers the alignment steps on the RP75?
@spoombung6 күн бұрын
The original is so good it needs proper restoration with noise removal. Just adding treble doesn't solve the problem.

The starter will not last very long with that kind of cold start.

Hi Simon, love the video, helps me a ton! One question, does the diameter of the power supply capacitor matter? I have a 35mm 10000uF/80V, can I use that provided an adjustment is made to the bracket?
@SoddingaboutSi17 күн бұрын
Yes it does. diameter is a limiting factor, Height less so.

Gosh this brings back memories. Educational as well as entertaining! I distinctly remember a girl who claims to have been graped, but the defence lawyer grilled her pretty hard, exclaiming, “why did you not cry out?” It turned out that she was right but as she was babysitting at the time, she didn’t want to wake the children up and have them come downstairs…

Hi, Just to say thanks for the video. Much info I have never heard of, that will be really useful for My restoration of My very early Ariston /Linn. I have just pulled it from storage after I haven't used it for some 20 odd Years. Although in My experience these type of things will just work and only need a bit of cleaning and tweaking. Oh just one thing that might help You is that when setting up the speed, You can fit the main platter on Upside down. So You can see where the pulley is riding. Best Wishes Jahmahrah

i haddan A400x i/t 90s. thought it sounded glassy thru my mate's bose spkrs. i'd read the A400 review at the time .. FF to 2020 & i finally find an A400. Noisy but airy spacey sound that sounded promising. Found some Krixes, had the amp thoroughly serviced, now clean, good sound-stage .. sounds pure & powerful with those stable platter/legato link pioneer cd decks. Even gerry-rigged a sub thru it 4 movies in stereo. Grouse amp!

Hi Simon my Sondek has no sound on the right channel,any ideas? I have switched the connects, even looked inside and reseated the 5-pin arm connector.For context I had it gone through by a great shop with new springs caps cart 10 years ago it has sat in the same spot so I,m guessing a bad cap?

I had an XBR500 around 1990. Very nice bike, I remember mine had a problem with the engine at idle revving far too much, no matter what. Unfortunately it then was stolen (parked by my house), and I did not ride a motorcycle for about 6 years after that (being a student). (Now I have a brand new V Strom 650A, after a Varadero 1000, VFR750, CBR1000 and an XT500.) Now and then I see an XBR500, last week at a motorshop nearby. The wheels have really really very distinctive look. I dont know of another bike with Comstar wheels with holes in it.

I took my first pair of binos apart yesterday to address a fungus on the prisms issue. This is a pair of 7x35 11 degree with removable prism plate. I did remove the prism plates from the binocular body to better clean the prisms. Note I was not quite so foolish to remove the prisms from the prism plates. HOWEVER, upon attempting to put the prism plates back I "discovered" that the three screws that hold the prism plate down also seem to play some role in the prism plate tilting as there are grub screws next to each main screw which seem to be causing various tilts when tightening up the prism plate. And it seems that the order in which you tighten the screws to put the prism plate back affects the final tilt of the prism plate. Ok fine, so I put everything back together as best I could and then found my alignment was off. This was fixed with an eccentric ring collimation of the main lenses using stars at night. This worked but presently an interesting observation. Turning the right lens did not improve collimation at all. In fact, all if did was cause the star I was using for collimation to either disappear all together or reappear as I turned the lens. Turning the left lens did work well and allowed collimation for a single star image. However, I read somewhere that messing with the prisms for collimation would reduce the image quality. And the incident where turning the right lens caused the star to appear and disappear makes me think the light path of the prism could be really out whack. Am I understanding that wrong? Which lead to the question, how does one properly re-install a prism plate to get the optimal light path (independent of what might happen later if eccentric ring tweaking is needed). Thank you.

Don't use Linn black oil on a bearing that has a gold surround/white liner or else the Teflon in the liner will swell and bind the spindle - use the Linn gold oil on that bearing. All others can use black oil. Oh, and don't just stuff a paper towel down and leave lint behind that will etch the bearing surfaces over time - use a lint-free swab!

I foolishly took one of these apart to do a DIY power amp, mint, fully working, but never used it as it was so dull and bland sounding, I regret taking it apart, one of my more childish moments as a teenager. The later A-400 integrated was a far better sounding amplifier.
