Keep it . If it was black coated stainless , it would look a right mess in know time . If they had made it in ceramic it would be too costly , unless they made it cheaper out of plastic resin 🤔 . You never know if they get more established within the industry , you may have more case materials options 🤔 . As it stands be happy with the watch and the great silicon wanderlust strap 🤣🤣🤣

Can you tell me if this watch still use traditional spring bar (two tiny spring on each end) to hold the strap? If you compare this with Panerai, the later uses more secure way to hold the strap in place because they don't use "Spring" bars, instead, they use a special mechanism to attach the strap and the watch body together.

Damn, I'm happy with the blue one, but if the revisionned red was available when I bought, I'd probably go for that one instead. Worth noting: the datewheel isn't really misaligned. It's the date setting with the crown that's really imprecise (the normal date change takes 1+hour, it's wiiiiide, instead of clicking precisely). Mine does the same, but once it goes past midnight by itself, the date stops right at the center of the window.

Amazing video thank you for this. But I am sorry the aftermarket velcro strap looks super cheap.... the nylon so thin, rought sides, even the Moonswatch colab has higher quality velcro strap. I understand back then it was like that also, but personally I would be iritated due to this. But this is me. And main thing is that you like it, and I wish I will have Bulova Lunar Pilot in my collection one day :)

By the way, I've been watching quite a few of your reviews lately and like them. I finally noticed the ECTO-1 license plate on the wall - big thumbs-up for that! 👍👍

Love the strap, order one for my “Lunar Pilot” 45MM. I picked up mine also off Amazon during summer time, same price around $350.00. Funny my box doesn’t have any warnings about not eating my watch. 😳

I'm with you and actually prefer the date at four-thirty - unframed and color-matched! It's worth noting that putting Bulova's "official" stainless bracelet on the strap version of the Lunar Pilot is not possible. Fortunately, Marc at Long Island Watch created one that, unlike Bulova's, matches the bead-blasted finish of the watch head. I've had my eye on this Lunar Pilot watch (feels like) forever. Almost got it for my birthday last year, but at the last minute moved to a Bulova Precisionist (Archive series) so that I could enjoy that extra-smooth, 16-beat second hand sweep all the time. Plus, it times down to 1/1000 second. Don't know how useful that is with human reaction time, but it's a conversation starter! The Precisionist is an enormous watch and you need a big wrist for it; it fits great on my behemoth 8.25" wrist. And it's heavy - it can double as a bludgeoning weapon. 🤣 My next birthday is coming up in a few months; I might just get the Lunar Pilot after all. Birthdays and holidays are the primary sources to feed my watch addiction. I just don't have the money to throw at every new watch that I want to add to the collection.

I'm gonna buy one of the 43.5mm versions sometime soon, so I've been watching pretty much every video about these that comes out. When I got my notification you had posted this I watched it as soon as I could lol. You have the best video on this I've seen as far as covering the history and actually showing how the watch works and the strap change. And I didn't know the extra strap you ordered existed, thanks for showing us that. Take care and keep the great videos coming at us!

Unless the video is lying, the 10 , 11, and the 4 markers are misaligned. Pause and zoom a clear, still, frame shot of the video with a straight on view. Certainly look misaligned to my eyes. You can't unsee it once you notice it. 🇨🇳

That's cool it has two screw down crowns. I bought a berny in the past and was let down by the bezel crown not being screw down.

Never been a fan of different colored lume on a watch. The rotaring bezel is pointless, just give me the rotating bezel. Color combo doesnt bother me. Nacho cheese is fun.

Nice watch , I got a steeldive 1970 (willard ) a while back and love it to bits , it's fast become my daily work watch.

Seiko has better lume. Case closed.

AliExpress is great for trying stuff out. I picked up an homage of the Seiko SBBN031 (Tuna) for under $60, delivered. It looks and feels like the Seiko and has a Seiko movement (NH35) that keeps really good time. It varries a bit day-to-day, but always falls in the +2 to +5 seconds per day range, which is within COSC Chronometer territory. Oh, and it has killer lume that goes toe-to-toe with my actual Seiko SNJ025 (Arnie). This watch scratched the itch rather nicely and I may never upgrade to the actual Seiko. Besides, I'd rather save up for my grail - Omega Speedmaster Professional, Sapphire Sandwich.

Are you serious? Did you get money to plug that ugly watch? I bet the numbers will fall off in a week. I see you didn't submerge that "Diver". I don't think it would survive a swim in a glass of water.

Yeah, well, it‘s not. On mine the Hands lume is nonexistent. The bezel is a pain in the arse if you want to adjust it to the 12 o'clock position. But I still like the watch. It‘s looking great and it‘s very well built. :-)
