If they ever make a Godzilla film with no humans, it should be done in a David Attenborough-style documentary, where there’s a narrator talking about what’s happening, just like Walking With Dinosaurs (and other dinosaur docs like When Dinosaurs Roamed America or Dinosaur Planet). A human-less Kaiju movie just won’t work unless you have a narrator.

I thought this short film was ok. Sure it was nice seeing suitmation and practical effects again, but I don’t know why Godzilla and Hedorah were fighting behind buildings. It was frustrating. They did the same for the Godzilla vs. Gigan short film.

My introduction to Godzilla began sometime in the mid-2000s when I heard of the name Godzilla and saw stock footage of him in an episode of Mythbusters. In 2009, I met my friends in 4th grade who was a huge Godzilla fan. He had seen all the Godzilla films up to that point, and his enthusiasm kind of sparked my interest in the character. In 2011, my friend's brother, who was also a Godzilla fan, told me the character's origin: A Dinosaur who was awoken and mutated by a nuclear bomb. One year later, I saw a (fan-made) trailer for Legendary Pictures' new Godzilla film, and I was excited! I believed the rumor. In 2013, I watched the first two trailers for Godzilla 2014. They were amazing! At first I had my gripes with the roar, but it quickly grew on me. Fast forward to the film's opening week, where my Mom and I had lunch at Red Robin, and we saw a TV spot for Godzilla on one of the monitors (the shot they showed was Godzilla roaring as the gates closed on the camera). She asked me if I wanted to see Godzilla. At first I declined fearing it would be too scary. Then on May 17, my Mom offered me to see Godzilla again, and I was still hesitant. But after telling me she'd bring my friend, I started to warm up to it. So we got in the car with my brothers, drove to my friends' house, picked him up, and drove to the AMC theater. The first thing I saw inside the building was one of the IMAX Godzilla posters (the one where Godzilla was red and he was towering above buildings. You probably know which one I'm referring to). We sat in our seats with our IMAX 3D glasses, and when I walked out I was blown away! Ever since that day, I've been a Godzilla film, and watched many of the old films (I still have to finish them all, lol), and the 1998 film (which I liked). I started learning about Godzilla, its origin, its founding fathers, how the original design and roar were created, etc. I watched many Godzilla YT videos and got Godzilla 2014 toys on my 15th birthday. Five years later came the sequel, Godzilla: King of The Monsters, a move that I saw and liked. Even though it does have some problems, I still like it today. Now it's been 10 years since I became a Godzilla fan. I'm so happy that I saw G14 in theaters. Thank you Gareth Edwards for making that amazing movie! Thank you, Ishiro Honda and Tomoyuki Tanaka, for making the greatest monster ever! In Godzilla, we trust. Happy 70th anniversary to Godzilla! Long live the king!

It's good to have you back! My introduction to Godzilla was the Blue Oyster Cult Song, Destroy All Monsters from the GameCube and (unfortunately) the garbage 1998 movie. Aside from the MonsterVerse movies, the only other ones I've seen are 1998 (as I've just mentioned), 1954, and Godzilla vs Megaguirus, and the MechaGodzilla scene from Ready Player One is easily my favorite scene from that movie. I'm more fascinated by the various kaiju and their designs. I've even been drawing my own original kaiju character that's inspired by Godzilla. And yes, I draw a lot.

I couldn't miss the 70th anniversary of Godzilla, meaning I had to do something for it. Decided to write my own feelings about the franchise rather than a montage (was gonna plan to do so), as well as add images and clips to this one.
