Pretty good short film, and way scarier than pretty much every modern horror movie. I also have quite some things I wanna get off my chest, some positive, some negative, some terrifying. When I came back from the convenience store near my house over an hour ago, I was told by my older brother, as well as my mom, that a killer is on the loose in my town and that someone was murdered recently. I don't think the killer was near my street while I was out (at least I hope he wasn't), but I'd hate to think what would happen to me if he was. It really shows just how scary things can be, especially at night. I've noticed that every year from this decade so far has always started off with something that causes nothing but misery and suffering. 2020 had Covid-19 as well as the Australian wildfires, 2021 had the January 6 US Capitol attack, and 2022 has Putler (I'm not calling him by his real name) and Russia's attack on Ukraine that's STILL going on. It makes me wonder now, what atrocity is 2023 gonna start us off with? Not that I'd want that to happen, but I can't be the only one who's seeing a pattern here. I'm officially excited for The Super Mario Bros Movie. I had extremely low expectations when the Mario movie was announced, since Illumination is the one making it. But the recent trailer blew me away by just how good the movie looks now. It also helps that Nintendo is working on the movie as well and not letting Illumination have its way with it. I hope the movie ends up being good. They CANNOT afford to mess this up. If it does end up being good, then I just hope Illumination will learn from this experience and start making good movies and forget their days of making low-effort trash like Despicable Me, Secret Life of Pets and Sing. I know DM4 and Pets 3 are currently in the works, but still. I doubt the Mario movie will be AS good as Detective Pikachu, but I'm much more hopeful for the Mario movie now than I used to be.
