So once I move the projector I would need to recalibrate it when I get ready to use it again right?
@SlewLivingСағат бұрын
Yep that's right. Once you get the hang of adjusting the settings I think it becomes easier each time!

Great video- thank you! Someone has probably already mentioned this but when darning you get the best results if you match the thickness of the yarn that you are using with the iwool used in the garment so a finer yarn would have given an even better result. Love the way you nurtured this garment and made it look really special

You can do a small outer stitch if you prefer to enclose the opening :)

Love this. Not just a wonderful facial tissue and paper towel replacement, but the pouch is a great way to keep existing general cleaning cloths and wash cloths more organized! Planning to try sets of various fibers and sizes for various purposes- small set in silk or fine linen for tissues/handkerchief, coarse linen for napkin pouch and paper towel replacement set, cotton jersey and cotton terry for general cleaning, scrubbing washcloths, and sponges; and possibly a small microfiber set for lens and screen cleaning.

Thank you so much! I'm 20 and 5ft, and I have HAD IT with pants not fitting me. I really appreciate this, thank you! It's so simple, I'm kicking myself for only looking into it now! Also, I really appreciate coming across an aussie tutorial! It's funny but hearing a familiar accent and using the metric system makes it so much clearer and makes me feel like I can actually try my hand at sewing 😂

Hey please help me i bought a coat but in that the pockets are in horizantal shape and are ending little bit on the back side. Due to it it comes out from sides and look so cheapy. Good from up but from mid from side of pockets it comes out Please tell me what to do😢😢😢 I am so worried 🙁
@SlewLiving28 күн бұрын
Hi! It's hard for me to 'diagnose' the issue without seeing it! It sounds like there is extra fabric from the pockets that is caushing bulkiness and making it stick out from the sides. Try to rearrange the fabric that is causing the bulkiness so that it sits properly. I hope that helps!

I intended it to mean 'to pattern needed to purchase'. Many tutorials will show you how to make a jumper but will link you purchase the pattern.

That turned out very nice! i thought you might use some of the yarn from the piece you cut off the bottom to mend the holes with, but you bought a nice match.

Where do you alter if your wedding dress just has one continuous piece to fabric with a back zip
@SlewLivingАй бұрын
Eek, I'm guessing your dress is stretchy then? It might need darts put in, or may be able to be altered from the back (either side of the back zip). It's hard to say without seeing it!

I saw in a sewing video that the cuff should be on a slant. Longer at the back I think ? What do you think?
@SlewLivingАй бұрын
I'm not very experienced with tailoring, but it makes sense to me that the front might be shorter than the back in order to accomodate for the front of the pants sitting neatly on top of dress shoes, while the back part of the pant will hang slightly lower!
@JustBeYouoohАй бұрын
@ yeah I think would do my head in , trying to get the correct slant! Lol…I might fold hem up , and then trace it with chalk …then decide …thanks…ps…I think you’re good at what you do, not everyone who sew are tailors…just talented :)

Thank you for your enlightening video. It has brought me to the realization that i (personally) should NOT attempt to alter my wool maxi trench. While i paid less to purchase it than the local going rate for hem alterations, paying to shorten it appears to be the safest and sanest choice. Also, i now fully understand the reason for the expense associated with alterations in general.

Thank you for your comment! I'm so glad that you recognised the expense associated with alterations, it means a lot! Perhaps one day you will build the skills to alter your own coat :)

Do Australians often switch between metric and empirical? Not complaining, but I thought it was funny when I would subconsciously expect a "centimeter" but she would say Inch.
@SlewLivingАй бұрын
Haha, Australians are very much metric, but I am aware that majority of my KZbin audience is from the US. Also, many 'standard' sewing measurements are derived from the empirical system, so for example the standard hem seam allowance is 1 inch, which converts to ~2.5cm, so it is actually easier for me to say 'make your hem 1 inch' rather than say 'make your hem two point five centimetres' hehe

Would this for sleeves on a wool jumper?
@SlewLivingАй бұрын
I think it would! Especially if it has a cuff. But I would be cautious of the extra bulk it would create around your arms/hands which could be annoying, and I would not cut away the excess fabric since it's likely a knitted jumper and could cause unravelling or holes to form.

Maybe because it's a more of a baggy/oversized and unisex look, but I liked the before way more. Not to dismiss your craftsmanship and deep knowledge of the matter, (and you look great in both, regardless) just as someone who is very new to the idea of custom fitted clothes, I might just noticed a preference, that I'll try to incorporate and keep in the back of my mind, when sewing for myself. Great Video all around, cheers :)
