Pineapple is definitely louder. Not sure I prefer the tone, though. Can't trust the sound through my computer and hearing aids.

It sounds really nice. I'm not going to spend that much on the Kala one after all, especially now that I found this one used for 80€ 🤷🏻♂️

@jujufisherofmen that's cheap! They need some set up but that price is crazy.

Meh… I don’t like carbon fiber, don’t like the sound, the effects are limited and cheesy. Any instrument that expensive should come set up properly. Seems like over priced plastic gimmickry to me.
@WorldofUkes9 күн бұрын
@kevinquigley4337 Yes it should. Nothing does though. Virtually nothing. So it has that in common with everything else. Plenty of far more expensive ukes are poorly set up. The point is that I will do it where many don't. The effects are limited, of course. It's a small unit on an instrument that costs, all together, less than many single effects pedals. I use pedals, lots of them... of course they're better than these. But more expensive too. For some people, that would be enough, a little bit of reverb or delay to mess about with. Have a bit of fun with. Fine not to like the sound. But I think it has its place and you've been a bit harsh.

Very loud and quite a specialized sound. Played carefully I like them…. Like you, I don’t think this would be my everyday uke, but on a spare? Definite ‘maybe’. I’d like to hear them in duet with a tenor though that tenor might need a pickup just to be heard. 😉 I appreciate the unique videos you bring. Thanks Matt!

Yes, I think to rehabilitate a cheap baritone perhaps, or get some use out of something in the collection that doesn't get much play.

Great video! My faves kept changing….. I’d think “this one”….then “wait…no, this one….” lol! The Aquilas are loud but always at the bottom of the stack so that narrows it down a trifle. Each of the aNueNues had a slightly different flavor to them…. Just gotta listen again! Thanks Matt!

Hello Matt, thanks for taking the Time to make sound samples with two different String Sets. The AnueNue Blue Moon would be my choice - this set sound more rounded for my ears. But the D'Addario Set is nice too. Sammy is playing all of his Ukes with UKE Logic Strings - I mean that he put them on this baritone too. So, every player has a personal preference - its really a subjektiv thing 😊. All the best and Mahalo Nui, Bettina

I remember a comparison, about a year ago, between two Baton Rouge UR71T: One with a dark 'nomal' top and one with a lighter sapwood top. There seem to be many similarities. Although the differences in sound are subtle, does this proof that lighter couloured (same) wood sounds brighter?

I don't think it's quite the same, these are electro acoustic instruments. I could make either sound great, or rubbish, depending on what amp I used. My problem with playing through an amp on demos is that my kit is likely to be better than most people's... so it'll sound better than it does to them when it gets to them.

Does the worth browns feel softer than aquila strings on Revelator? Night owl sound much better than Enya in my opinion. I will probably order night owl from beckett music in Southampton somewhere in january.
@WorldofUkes19 күн бұрын
Yes and no. I find Aquila's thickness makes them feel stiff. But the thinner Worths make them feel quite hard too. I lower the action and fit Worths as high action and Worth Browns is a particularly unpleasant combination.
@Marcin_Kaszubowski19 күн бұрын
@WorldofUkes high action and low action. I gave my Kala Pacific Walnut tenor to lower action, but some designs like ka15t pacific Walnut tenor will allow slightly to lower action on nut and saddle. I am going to collect my ka15t somewhere mid next week. How the action look like on Revelator night owl, I presume is lower then cheaper designs which are set higher?
@WorldofUkes19 күн бұрын
@Marcin_Kaszubowski no, it's pretty high. Many had high frets so lowering the action caused buzzing, so I had to level them.
@Marcin_Kaszubowski19 күн бұрын
@@WorldofUkes I am curious about this as someone on Facebook ukulele lovers group told me, that recommended on the 1st fret is.0.5mm and on 12th fret 2.5mm, but only if design allow for such adjustments on nut and saddle. So you level the action just by leveling saddle? I think this would be safest to avoid buzzing. In a worse scenario you can replace nut and saddle if you go down too low.

@nigeldavey104320 күн бұрын
I note the other comments regarding these two but would say rather that #245 is warmer and a little richer rather than darker. More what you might expect from a Tenor body and scale length. #247 on the other hand gives a bit more of a ring from the higher tuned strings, that sparkle you get with a Soprano as well. There's not a lot of difference, it's more like comparing Worth Browns and Worth Clears. that! 🤔🙂
