The idea that depression enables you to make an unfair, unjust value judgement about oneself is pretty profound to me, which I've now come to realise applies to me to this day. As someone with diagnosed depression i would say my anger and self-negativity is more a reaction to my depression (and other mental issues) rather than a product of it. Given anxieity makes it difficult to plan and depression makes it hard to act, the self-deprecating stems in response to any perceived failure, especially disproportionate to its actual value. One tends to dwell on the smaller faults because obeservation bias makes it easier to find them and use them against oneself. Granted other people's experiences may vary, but that's the trend I've found both in my own journey and those who've been able to open up and share with me.

mood disorders (including depresion) and anxiety = inflammation => work on reducing inflammation. Other factor is people. Try to figure out a way to reduce the damage other people deal on you. Third factor. negative thinking. when you hear yourself thinking negative, try to stop thinking. other option is to do pattern interrupt to stop the negative thought flow. third option is to try to replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

@pupper5580 the adhd makes not thinking difficult (somewhat kidding). But yeah, I do work on fighting the negative self talk a lot, I have to remind myself it isn't as stupid as it feels. This is the first I've heard about inflammation though, aside from the anecdotal that a lot of people with mental problems end up taking antihistamines.

If you want to “make sense” of depression, here’s a concept: Learned helplessness. In an experiment with dogs, dogs can be trained to do nothing despite the potential of reward. The setup goes like this - a dog is trapped between two rooms with floors that shock them. If both rooms shock, then eventually the dog learns to remain in the room even if the experiment is later changed so they’re able to escape the shock by moving to the other room. Clinical depression may follow a similar pattern.

Although I don’t agree depression is anger directed inward, I’ve never had an issue with a form of anger in that aspect, but everything you said about the finding a sort of comfortablity and lack of responsibility that comes with finding yourself in the laziness of depression, is completely accurate in my personal experience.

27:50 "I win this game with infinite time scale" Do you though? You generate 10 a turn, blue and green get 8, black gets 5. As Time->N you have 10N troops + Cards + starting point - attack/defense loss. Green and blue have 8N + (...) and black has 5N + (...). The starting points stop mattering at infinite time scales, the card luck and attack/defense loss is approximately equal for each player. So you have 10N + x troops to black and greens 8N+x each. You can kill one of them and guarantee a higher placement, but you can't guarantee a win if they don't go to war with each other.

you lose 0.85 troops per troop you attack on a big scale, i.e. you smash a 100 stack with a 100 stack and are left with a 15. So in order to "win on an infinite time scale" you'd have to outgenerate everyone by a factor of 0.85. If we only look at Green and Black in this game: Black gets 5 troops a turn, Green gets 8. 13 times 0.85 is roughly 11. In a three player game, a generation of 10 would be enough with a little bit of luck. Overall, he doesn't really. At least not certainly. Overall I just think "winning on an infinite time scale" is a good way to phrase being in a good position and not needing to do anything. Being content.

Hotdogs Vs. Burgers: İts the same conundrum as Pancakes V Waffles V French Toast. Pancakes are safe. You cant really fuck up a pancake. So if you are at a place of bad or unknown/questionable quality, you order safe and get pancakes. İf you know that the place youre at has great breakfast, you order the french toast. Now we extrapolate this to HotDogs V Burgers. You cant really fuck up a hot dog, so if youre at somewhere of bad or unknown quality, you get the Dog. But if you know where youre serving is of higher quality, then you order a burger. Even though you cant fuck up a hot dog. İf you fuck up a burger, its BAD.

Do you like NF's music? his music tells his story. its very cool i think. like listening from beginning to end you can see his transformation and the story plays out well. there is sad depressing music and some hype music and some motivational music but they are his venting space and the story where he is at now is cool. His song Hope wraps up sort of the end of letting his depression get to him. he says in the song it took him 30 years to take the reigns on his life. the overall story is a masterpiece of lyricism and art and story.
