Dude You can't even buy Hardcover art books for 50 bucks How is 50 Bucks not inexpensive?!?! LoL that's very affordable. Especially for software that is basically professional level software. A single sketchbook is like 20-50 dollars and I have 3. A single pad of Bristol is like 20 bucks and I have 10. A single art pencil costs like 3 bucks and I have 20. A single pack of artist markers costs 30 and I have 2. 50 dollars to paint color and draw on your pc without having to buy more art equipment is very cheap. You can buy an art tablet for 50 bucks that's nice and big. For 100 dollars you can basically fldraw forever. For 50 if you get Krita. But Krita is open source and runs on donations.

Moho is very cool, I made dozens of Moho tutorials over the years, but for hand drawn animation, OpenToonz is better than Moho, it has better raster drawing tools, OpenToonz is better suited for paper workflow, but also has a very good digital workflow, it also has better FX than Moho, and it has a cut-out tool-set as well, and it works on Linux, which has been my OS for several years now, Moho is only Win/Mac, which is the main reason I stopped using it, it really depends on your needs really, both are very good IMHO !!!

Can you do Clip studio paint vs Tvpaint?
@reinantewhisper93333 күн бұрын
Tbh, CS is so much better and more precise than TVPaint because it offers vectors, AI tools, 3D capabilities, and a large community to share numerous assets.

So my choice goes to... Krita. :P It's free, and does what I need. I am intrigued by Grease Pencil in Blender. But haven't really gotten my head around its workflow .

From my experience the Grease pencil is really good for storyboards cause it can help with the 3d environment, but I hate coloring with it

Mmmm veery good comparison... But tbh the look of vector graphics in Moho often appears less natural compared to a raster style. In Clip Studio, for instance, vector lines feel more optimized because they look closer to rasterized lines, which adds a natural feel to the strokes. Additionally, Moho’s deformation system can be quite tedious when animating highly detailed elements, like complex folds in clothing or detailed hair, as managing so many points becomes labor-intensive. This process can be time consuming, especially in scenes with many poses or intricate details. Regarding Moho’s bone system and the Vitruvian Bones, while these provide flexibility, it can be limiting for frame by frame animation, as they require separate rig setups for each pose. This process can be tedious and time-consuming, especially in scenes with many poses. On the other hand, TVPaint feels more natural, especially for frame by frame animation, but it does require more manual work, like a final inking stage. This allows for a more hand drawn look, but it also slows down the workflow compared to more automated tools. Perhaps something like Cacani or Grease Pencil, which use AI to automate interpolations without needing to draw them by hand or deform keyframes, could significantly lighten the workload, especially in more traditional results where inbetweens require more attention to convey a specific pose or facial expression. However, AI is getting closer to achieving these same results. A good example is Adobe Illustrator with its new generation of image manipulation, where rotating a head now produces the result of its different rotations. If it doesn't convince you, you can modify it yourself, but you no longer have to start from scratch. Cheers.

I think it's super important to note that infinite painter is NOT free, it costs about 10 bucks, the free download might as well be a demo with 90% of the features blocked. HOWEVER, it is still VERY much worth the price, I just want people to be informed

I think the big difference is you either invest time up front (rigging) or during (frame by frame)

Iv used almost all animation software be it 3d or 2d and buy far the most modern 2d animation software that’s used professionally buy studios like cartoon saloon is Moho ifs also got the bonus of being a cost effective software as its a one time payment and there’s two versions one for about £50 and the pro version that just adds a few extra features for around £200 but both versions are fully capable to crate amazing work on a professional stranded also some people say Moho rigging is hard but I think it’s actually more flexible and freeing as cartoon animators rigging system is awful
@esportlegendstv11814 күн бұрын
Did you just search images on Google and pick whatever interesting one you see to use as a thumbnail? That photo you're using is a rigged character made with Duik Bassel in After Effects and yet you didn't mention it. Also, some of this software has unique features to offer and you just didn't know most of it, it's like you wrote a prompt on ChatGPT asking for a quick summary of rigging software available on PC, LOL. Definitely not qualified for the topic

Cartoon Animator seems to be attempt to leverage motion capture and automation by the parent company behind it, and expand the same in animation market. While Moho seems to be product of love for animators and artists who share the same passion for animation as the people behind the program.

"Frame by frame" is a non-industry term that was started on Newgrounds. The correct terminology is animating on 1s (Or 2s, 3s, etc.) With the broader term being "traditional animation" or "cell animation". But if you're drawing each frame for 1 second of animation that is 24 frames at 24fps, that would be "animating on 1s", though you can switch between 1s, 2s, and 3s depending on the detail or motion. Mostly it's called "cell animation" since most of the public considers "traditional animation" to be with pen and paper, even though it is more about the methodology than the medium.
