can use blender for 2d animation on laptop which has only iGPU?

CA, all resources are paid and expensive. Need another software to create custom puppets. Not good to make cartoons, only for quickly youtube videos. Grease pencil in Blender is free, but not the best for 2D animation. The best are Toon Boom, TvPaint and Moho. But in a short time, AI will do it better and faster. 2D animation, so for fun, not to make money

When you have to scroll down to read comments, it means the video didn't really make it clear what the clear distinguishing aspects for each software are lol

I always love your videos. One thing Id like to point out that I disagree with in this particular one is that you do not need to purchase any add-ons for Cartoon Animator in order to animate. Once you buy the inital software, you have everything you need. All the add-ons are optional, not essential. You dont NEED to buy them. You just have the option if you want to.

I've been building animation tools with geometry nodes, greasepencil 3 now being supported & more powerful than ever + now that is it's own curve object type..In time as more users develop custom tools, it will be far better than professional 2d options out there!

For people saying rigging is basically less time consuming Remember Adobe character animator is basically just for beginners and less time consuming due to its advanced features. Try to search up for moho,and you'll find alot of interesting ones Like "Room 20" or "super Mario bros recap" Both frame by frame and ADVANCED rigging takes ALOT of time Stick with what suits you the best

I used Blender for 3D animation for many years and Maxon C4D before that. I have now migrated over to 2D animation and comics. Blender is Free however to use the grease pencil effectively you will need a drawing tablet($250) minimum for a decent one. with Reallusion cartoon animator you can literally do all of your 2D puppet animation with the mouse and keyboard, no need to buy a drawing tablet. Then there are the audio based and camera based facial and lip since options already in cartoon animator. I am making an animated children’s series with cartoon animator and pre-made assets so the production is extremely fast Notice how you never see anyone showcasing Blender grease pencil animated productions with dialogue heavy animated characters with many speaking scenes because you have to hand draw every lipsinc performance with grease pencil. which brings me to my final point Artist who want true 2D hand drawn animation/anime are not using Blender, MOHO or Cartoon animator but they are instead using Toon Boom Harmony, TV paint or even open toons.

There are amazing hand drawn animation made with greese pencil Greese pencil is best if you want to integrate 2d and 3d I don't remember clearly but a Netflix show about ninja turtles(those human turtles) used greese pencil People don't use greese pencil yet because it's new, industry conventional thing are clip studio and others but actually greese pencil is amazing And cartoon animator is more like a software for commercial shows who need it fast and nothing much creative like hand drawn animation Both are good for use

With Drawing tools | vs | Without Drawing tools 🤭
@GarryPyeКүн бұрын
Agree. Thats the beauty of Cartoon Animator. You can animate even without having the ability to draw. And if you can draw, you get to choose whichever illustration software you prefer, instead of being locked into the ones provided. So good!

All to pricey. Except the free one. Use ipad, import in to davinci, add sound and music, export. freeeeeee

Seeing the price of many of these, I'd honestly suggest pirating the last non-Adobe version of FLASH MX, and learning the old ways. That's what the Adobe Animate was derived from anyway.

you could also add Clip Studio Paint EX, which is tailored to the animation/story-mode aspect of creating, and which can do everything PRO can, which is the basic still drawing tool.

Just started using Moho a week ago, and I have already learned sm! It's very easy to use if u have ever tried a basic drawing program

The fact you can change the hud layout to be simpler like procreate makes it way more beginner friendly and easier to navigate for me, and as a artist in training it really takes that layer of stress not having to search a million buttons to find a certain tool instead having nice neat little buttons that show there respective tools

I just tried infinite painter and i have two complains that make it unusable for me: Liquify makes things pixelated, and i cant make my rounded brush bigger than 30px. I just wanted a big round brush for painting and it forces me to select a different type of brush to make it bigger than that

A little detail to reconsider, but Moho also supports frame by frame animation. Not necessarily its main focus or speciality, but it still covers this genre of animation

Pretty nice summary although I'm not a huge fan of video footage being shown pretty much at random. Like you're talking about gimp and showing krita footage or even Adobe illustrator footage another time. To me it's distracting and not very useful.

From my own experiences Cartoon animator and MOHO are the best, followed by Blender, Blender has a higher learning curve but is also many times more powerful than a just 2d animation software, the reason I started working with character animation is because I also use IClone and Character creator, that also have an automatic setup for blender, But MOHO is really good and still used, MOHO is not a new tool, has a long history, and keeps improving, if I must give an advice to someone else, MOHO would be my recomendation.

Humble Bundle offers steep discounts on Moho once or twice a year, usually a prior version that you can upgrade.
@Dude-hs7zm17 күн бұрын
Solution: download both lol. If you’re starting out completely from scratch and just want to practice the timing and methods used in animation you can use pencil 2D. Then once you’re comfortable with animating in general, you can move onto more complex software (such as opentoonz). They’re both free after all, might as well give them each a shot.

A brush doesnt determine an artist, their art does. You get my point, righi g or fram by fram, doesnt mater , if you a good one the art will follow
@ArtwithAmarBrisco19 күн бұрын
Moho uses both raster and vectors and it is a far more professional program versus and entry level program like Cartoon Animator. Also Cartoon Animator does not let you draw anything which means you can't do frame by frame animation like Moho. Lastly if one wants to do something more than motion graphics puppet animation and allow you to go from amateur to pro. You have to go with Moho and no sensible professional would recommend Cartoon Animator over Moho.
