Is fillet crochet the same basic technique as interlocking?
@AshleeBrotzellDesignsКүн бұрын
Not quite, no. Interlocking mesh is just one double crochet ("dc". US terms), one chain. Typically Filet crochet uses 2 chains between each dc and it's in that gap that you can do solid stitches, partially solid stitches, angled stitches, etc. There are some new variations with interlocking crochet where you add solid stitches between the dcs (instead of chaining you do another dc) but I haven't yet added that to any of my designs. If you're familiar with reading Filet charts you could technically use the interlocking chart and create a Filet version though.

Thank you!! Over the last few days I discovered this along with mosaic crochet. Mosaic I got down in a flash. This I have struggled with which had been beyond frustrating. I have done a lot of filet crochet with thread. I love the designs. I can't use thread any more as the tension I need hurts my hands. For whatever reason other channels I've used for tutorials just didn't click. I think one thing that makes how you explain and write your patterns so much clearer is there is just front and back, not mixed in with right side and wrong side. Also the way you lock the ac chain in to the mc foundation was the easiest and simplest way. Sitting her with a half a square and so happy and ready to read the rest of the pattern on my own and complete it and the find another pattern to make next to keep practicing. Thank you!!!!!

Hi I am a beginner, can you please tell me which type of yarn should i use for blankets. As the brand you mentioned in the video is not available here in India. I am confused between acrylic, woollen yarns.
@AshleeBrotzellDesigns29 күн бұрын
Personally, I am not that picky about brands. The design will show no matter what fibre your yarn is made of. Acrylic tends to be the most cost effective option here in Canada but I've heard that in some countries wool and cotton are not so expensive so they prefer those options. The fibre will affect the cost of yarn and the way you wash your blanket. It's probably more important to look at how thick your yarn is and making sure you choose two colora that contrast well. The Craft Yarn Council has charts and more information if you're not familiar with this, but I've used a medium weight yarn for this project (4 - worsted). You may need to double up your strands if you only have access to thinner yarns.

Hi! I just found your channel and I am very curious. In watching this video, how do you keep the yarn and yarn balls from getting tangled? Thank you.
@AshleeBrotzellDesignsАй бұрын
There are only two colors, so tangling isn't as much of an issue as a single crochet graphgan for example, but it can still happen. All it takes is twisting your project the opposite way a few times or manually moving the balls of yarn to untwist them.

Is the resulting fabric always the same size, or can you adjust the size? It seems ppl only talk about making hats with it. Could I make tubular sleeves? Thank you!
@AshleeBrotzellDesigns2 ай бұрын
If you buy machines of different sizes you have a few more options, but a 48 pin tube is always going to make a tube 48 stitches around. The yarn thickness can vary slightly, like a lighter 3 weight up to a 4 weight but that also won't change the size of your tube too much.
@AshleeBrotzellDesigns2 ай бұрын
You can make a longer tube by doing more rows but the tube will be the same width
