Nice video, my only complaint with Siete Leguas is the 700 ml bottle as opposed to 750 of most other quality brands. Other delicious additive free tequilas are Ocho, G4, El Tesoro, El Tequileno, Fortaleza, Cazcanes, etc

Thanks Derek. I like a good Negroni.. sometimes tweak the ratios... Boulevardier as well.. This seems like pulling the "rug" out from under the drink though by removing the base spirit... I'm trying to think of the context this one belongs in.. you mentioned New Year's Eve.. I can see that, like if you want something fancy that won't knock you out.... this was a new one on me.. Thanks!

See, to me the “core” of the drink is Campari. Even though it’s the liqueur it’s the thing that makes a Negroni what it is, the gin just brings up the ABV to me, I rarely taste it in there

I actually discovered this cocktail in a book from 1997 called “The Essential Book of Boat Drinks & Assorted Frozen Concoctions” by Olaf Nordstrom. I’ve yet to find a place that has an earlier rendition of this cocktail, but the book is basically Jimmy Buffet / Margaritaville. The recipe in the book calls for: - 1 jigger Light Rum - 1 1/2 t. Triple Sec - 1 1/2 t. Cherry Liqueur - Juice of 1 lime

For $21.59 a bottle, I'd rate it as a decent budget rum. Most rums in that price range are undrinkable as a shot.

I've heard this from a lot of experienced distillers they all say foreshots cannot make you blind.

Yeah, I'll leave that to the scientists and those that understand the human body more so than a distiller :) Unless the reason they say this is because they drink foreshots/poison all the time and are fine, I'll not take my chances :)

@cmcocktails They probably have. I would never trust "scientist" over someone who has actually done it a lot of times. They don't drink the foreshots because of bad taste and headache.

Lol. "Day" for "De" is Spanish.. "De" in French sounds like a cross between "duh" and "doo." This drink looks good. Basically a whiskey sour with grapefruit for the citrus. Must try it...! Thanks for sharing this one.
