My hair was bountiful and almost butt length. Then, it started thinning and shedding. I was using the shampoo, conditioner, masque, and oil. I did a complete chop, 😊and now I've just completed my first year of microlocks. My hair is thriving, thick, and healthy. I am currently using the head and shoulders royal oils collection for my locks with homegrown aloe for my hair masque.

As a Locs Specialist as well as Locs client, I would suggest that you do more legwork to find the Locs Specialist or Locs Technician you can be comfortable with and be a good partner in your locs journey. Be a good partner by staying committed to the schedule and plan you both set in the beginning. If you decide to go diy (which I can relate to) assume the responsibility for the fallout that comes. I see no need to make disparaging remarks about the community you previously joined to the broadcast social media. Ultimately, I am happy for you to receive your desired results.

Although I appreciate the suggestion of finding a loctician that I can partner with in my loc journey, I actually prefer to remain DIY and plan to keep it that way. I maintain my locs in a very unorthodox manner, which may be unproblematic for me but may provoke a response from a loc specialist that I’d rather avoid altogether. I also want to clarify that my “disparaging remarks” is my right to speak on since those aspects are a part of my overall personal loc journey and experience. Nonetheless your input is valued and thanks for watching.

I have used and purchased this oil for awhile but the last bottle I purchased this past year is definitely a different formula because I do feel my hair is not reacting the same. But the bottle I purchased last year was still OK, so I think that they are playing around with the formula… seeing whats cheaper…. but I think I’m no longer going to purchase, because of how my edges have been reacting recently, where it didn’t do that before.
@LaZy3LocD
@LaZy3LocD 15 сағат бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience. I know it can be frustrating when a product you’ve trusted for so long suddenly doesn’t work the same. It’s definitely possible that they’ve changed the formula, especially if you’re noticing differences in how your hair reacts. I think it’s smart to move on if your edges aren’t responding well anymore. Your hair’s health always comes first! 💯Thanks again for adding to the conversation, and I hope you find something that works even better for you moving forward!

6:06 My exact question I been asking. Just like Elasta QP had a hair lotion called “Recovery”, it was so awesome, so hydrating and they was always selling out then they up and just discontinued it. It was on eBay for $60 and up a bottle. So sad, they don’t want us to have anything good and working for us…to make us spend more money. I’m doing just like you and making my own. 💜

This is not a conspiracy. This happens with every acquisition. Bragg's experienced this. Famous Amos experienced this. Mccormick, Lume, etc. No one is targeting Black people. Wow we really need to embrace education and knowledge. This is so slow and so sad. And scary. Wow. Research and information will save your life. Literally. It's about profit margins, not sabotage.

The products SEEM to drastically change when the "big companies" start to mass produce the products. That was my experience many years ago with Carol's Daughter. At that time, I used the Carol's Daughter brand. When the brand was no longer a small business, the formulations changed. The "big companies" are more concerned about making money than producing natural quality products.

So excited for you Sis! Can't wait for you to show out!😊 I've used Mielle in the past when I was a loose natural specifically the Pomegranate & Honey collection and had no issues. Since being loc'd I haven't used any of the products...I do hope a healthy resolve is found because this seems as if the quality of the ingredients are less than now because... it's our community mostly affected.

I have said this for years how our folks hair and edges have been falling out. I have a friend who had a hair and wig shop for years who spoke of this. If we grow our hair long and healthy, we don't need the wigs and weaves etc etc. I think you know what I mean. All natural for me all my Queen Sisters...😊

I washed my hair 2x this week. No retwist. When i retwist it takes me 40 minutes. That's all i can handle. Low maintenance and looks great.

You paid for a service to be convenient and comfortable for you! That is so relatable. Some hair dressers make you feel like you're paying them to berate and disrespect you. It can be borderline humiliating. No one should be made to feel that way, especially no one I'm paying. Hair care can be very personal to us, as I think it should be. Its our own individual genetic material. It makes me think that cosmetologists skipped over that part in their studies. Human beings maybe be similar, but universally very very different. The same applies to hair. Your crown is beautiful and glorious. I'm happy you found a way of maintaining yours that works for you. Who can be unhappy about that? Who can criticize that? Sounds like you've attracted a bunch of haters 😂❤.

Thank you for sharing this comment. Paying for a service should never make you feel uncomfortable or disrespected. Hair care is definitely personal, and should be a tailored overall experience. I really like how you described the uniqueness of our hair and how important it is to find what suits us individually. I’m really glad I’ve found a method that suits me, and I appreciate the support. And yes, haters are gonna hate even if I can care less lol 😂❤️

I have followed you since the beginning. I even tried knotted locs as an alternative. And the nearest loctician did charge me a leg to remove the ones that didn't settle correctly. I have now come up with my own method for maintenance. I cannot go too long without retieing. The fro keeps the heat in and I get massive headaches and marrying along the shaft and roots. I done plan on cutting until I reach tailbone length and it is fast approaching!
