Hello sir, recently discovered your amazing channel. I wish to buy something like this. Could you please tell me what I should search for exactly, as it's unavailable online, and quite costly here in India. I have used Mechanix set before, but this is something different. So if you could help me here. Thanks.

Amazing. But one more thing I would like you to add in this; please also show how you made this. People are fascinated by how the laws of the universe can be achieved in such a way. God's very own. Love from India.

No oil leaks? Can't be a British bike then 😉
@meccado484824 күн бұрын
Actualy it is the Triumph 4 stroke twin cylinder, so yes, British.
@saimorph25 күн бұрын
That is just grand. Maybe a little bit of oil to reduce the squeaky noises.
@meccado484824 күн бұрын
It is the piston against the cylinder. Even a lot of grease does not reduce the noise😢

How did you get it to sound like that? I had a piece of plastic rubbing against the fan. Beautiful video BTW.

Wooooooooooow! Thank you very much for sharing something as valuable as "Instructions Book No. 1" I started building my first MECCANO models when I was eight years old, now I'm 70 and I still get excited putting together different models. I send you an affectionate greeting from Mexico City, CDMX. THANK YOU!!!

What does the beam connected to the piston housing (not the piston itself) and the top beam do? My first thought was that it was to keep the piston shaft from twisting, but then again it seems like that linkage would still have the piston shaft moving on an arc... I don't know. Apologies for any confusing terminology, I'm not familiar with steam engine vocabulary haha Also cool build!!
@meccado484810 ай бұрын
Thank you for analysing the video. The function of this beam is to keep the piston shaft straight during the movement. Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. I hope it's clear what I wanted to say.

Great model. The inner forkpieces of the cardan drive must be aligned, otherwise the output drive is non linear.

Thanks for this film - I want to make this model, and your shots of the valve gear, particularly the pump are a help - the illustrations aren't any too clear. I have some nickel parts myself - inherited!

Thank you. Good luck with building this classic model.

Very nice indeed. I've built this fellow, but using a different Meccano Motor which meant I had to alter a few things. Must build it again some time. My most recent model is the Foden steam lorry and trailer, originally from a late 1920's Meccano Magazine - and it needs a big room to let it run in a circle. Furniture is a nuisance sometimes.

Thank you for your reply. It was a joy to construct this model.

That's a nice, neat piece of work. Tell me, that nifty little winding handle - is it either a very, very early Meccano part, or from somwhere else? I don't recall seeing ne like it before.
@meccado484811 ай бұрын
Thank you. The winding handel is a Constructor part, a Dutch construction set from the 50s. It is full brass and looks great on this model.

Thank you! Great to see a new video of this GREAT model! I like the 1929 steam engine of meccano a lot, but I think you did well with the Kleinemeyer engine, I like them too. I MUST get my meccano out to play! xD THIS is the model I like to build the most! Cordial greetings! Géréon (a north german, born in Hannover, close to Hamburg, living at the lake geneva)

Thank you! It is indeed a great model to build and it is fun to operate the engine. When well adjusted, everything works smoothly. Don't think I will disassemble it for parts, same for the motor chassis.

I’m a complete newbie. Can you recommend any specific vintage sets that would contain most of the pieces needed to replicate this?
@meccado4848 Жыл бұрын
@@telepresence start with a set 8 or 9, great value for money. You can build lots of models with it. There are several online dealers for spare parts. All Meccano model plans are available on the internet at meccanoindex.co.uk. Happy building!

brilliant when i was young the car chassis was my favourite thing to try to master i never got to this level but it tough me all i know about how a car functions and thats why i could strip down a mini and of course led to a life time of engineering that car is fantastic love it well done
