When I was young I was very excited to them as live action characters. It would’ve been great if they had one season at least. But it sure was fun to watch.

The take away from this is, stay true and respect the source material.

I watched this only for the underrated superheroes like: The Atom, his pal Hawkman and Green Lantern. Other than that, I have no interest in this show.

I don't like this review it's too cynical. These costumes were outstanding for this time. Considering that nobody knew what to do with super heroes back then.

If they would have just played it straight it would have been okay. But they took the lazy way out and got every has-been over-the-hill Vaudeville Catskills reject to participate and wouldn't attempt to pay to have Superman or Wonder Woman in it, so ... yeah, predictable results. Why try when you can just play it for a goof? Looks like a failed cash grab to me. And Project UFO was pretty weird too ... Dragnet except the investigate UFO sightings. Like X-Files but without the appealing protagonists. And every episode ended with the agents explaining away how the UFO was fake or a mistake - then there was a stinger where it turned out the UFO was real!

I will not be dissuaded from believing that Sam Mendes took the scene of Mr Freedom on the roof silhouetted by neon lights as inspiration for a scene in Skyfall.

They should have just done a show with Julie Newmar as Cat Woman. She wouldn't even have to speak.

From an adult POV, I imagine it was cringe-inducing. For kid like me back then, it was some awesome stuff! At the very worst, it was better than the Star Wars Holiday Special. 😂

I watched this as a kid, and loved it. Got to see Batman and Robin again. To me it was like a live action Super Friends, which was my favorite Saturday morning cartoon at the time.

The villains actually looked a lot better than the heroes.

Nice job, John! I was impressed that they actually got a weightlifter to play Hawkman when I was a kid. I couldn't tell how bad it was at the time.

I remember watching this as a kid I was 11 when this came out to me it was fun to watch seeing your favorite superheroes in a live action adventure

I kind of liked those shows as a kid for Justice League and their villains but later noticed their inferiority to the Incredible Hulk, Wonder Woman, Six Million Dollar Man, Bionic Woman, etc. TV shows, and Superman movies of the period.

seeing hawkman on this show was my first inkling that i was gay.

I remember those two specials and I loved them despite the cheesiness.

Yikes! 2 hours of superheroes on network prime time got by me, and know one I know ever talked or joked about it? Mandela Effect is in effect. Clearly this is all lounge in cheek. Real professionals to sell out and deliver this corny material. Nothing like network TV in the 70s. This is like a bad SNL skit, gone long and wrong.

It amuses me they had Gigantia and The Adom date on the show as a joke when just a few years ago they had them on a date in the comics. I wonder if they got the idea from the show?
