@ParadoxEcho17 сағат бұрын
So... Then, what if they engineered it with four locks, each has to turn a different direct, and all have to be turned not "in degree" but as one unit. At that point you're dealing with more keyholes than you have hands. I mean I'm sure that is a lot of engineering and would make a much more expensive lock, but I feel like at some point you're better off attacking the chain. Also.... Emphasis here, if you are leaving something locked up in a public place, the lock is to add a few minutes to the theft, a determined attacker will always defeat your security, it just depends on how much effort they are willing to put into it.

My main question is: WHY?! Why make a well made lock with abyssmal security?! Just make it a toy plastic lock for 30 bucks. Or if you plan on making from good materials, then ftlog, make it SECURE! Can maybe someone from a similar company explain the train of thoughts that was used when prototyping that lock?
@ShowemRight18 сағат бұрын
I've just learn by trial and error that you can render a pad lock well in my case a Magnum Series Masterlock internally broken by trying to pick it. I picked this particular lock about 4 times, and so I practice on it again, and now I noticed the regular key to the lock won't even turn it...damn, that sucks.

Like many locks we see here, it's "security" by annoyance and time. It may not be hard, but it isn't exactly quick either.

So you made covert instruments. Have you thought about making your own lock designs with catagorized levels security? If a compant can make a knockoff without gaining the ire of the original maker, you should be fine if you actually fix the bad design.

So realistically, of we want an unpickable lock, we need to design and machine our own, and only use our own, never giving lock pickers knowledge of the internals?

I made shims like that out of my dads beer cans when i was in middleschool. Maybe back in like 2006? And i sold them to kids for 5 bucks a piece. And also had kids pay me to use them when they forgot their locker combos or bike combos

They altered the change mechanism to cut down on the packaging needed to support the change key. No idea why they didnt make the gaps in the casing for the wheels smaller.

LPL can't understand why they'd make a change to the code change switch location and not address the well known security issues. It's because the change was a cost reduction and not a security enhancement.

Thanks for all your videos. I wonder: how does one pick a lock with paperclips? I've heard a lot about it but even though I've managed to pick a basic simple lock with lockpicks, I couldn't do the same with paperclips. And by picking a lock with paperclips I don't mean reshaping it with a hammer and then tempering it as some videos suggest. I mean such a hypothetical scenario as if you were kidnapped and you happen to not have any lockpicks or they've been taken from you but you have some paperclips and you really need to escape. How do you do that? Maybe that could be a topic for few videos where you pick all types of locks with paperclips? And/or with any other common items that like pretty much any house has?
