Exactly, I’m sure its hard to design, but since the picks themselves are rather thin, having all three options inside the handle and utilizing a 3-position selector switch on the side to place a movable opening in front of the desired pick - now that would make for an awesome EDC tool well worth a premium price!
@the_undeadАй бұрын
@@ritterkeksI think this is more of a novelty item than an EDC tool. I got mine, and I have a quick review of it. Edit: Mine jams up quite a bit. Because of how wobble it has, it can sometimes hit the sides and get jammed up. So, I just used some of my metal working tools and widened that area out a little bit, no more jamming up. 1) The *grav* part? I love it. The mechanism is so nice, even though it does bind up sometimes when trying to close it. That's probably just lack of practice. 2) I *hate* that small allen key that it comes with. It's just so slippery and annoying when trying to manage such tiny screws. 3) It's a little sad it doesn't come with a case or any way to *quickly* change the tools. For example, if you want to go from a rake to any of the other tools, you've got to unscrew the base (I think anyway, the QR codes for the instructional videos don't work. They just go right to the Covert Instruments KZbin page), remove the old tool, and then either A) swap the mounting mechanism with the new pick, or B) use the included extra mounting mechanism and slide that in, but it requires you know which 2 picks you'll use most often. And then put the other picks and screws back in the plastic bag (which is such a pain in the ass to open and close). My GravPick weirdly came with the Bogota set, which is definitely pretty awesome. Overall, it feels unfinished. There should be a way to more quickly swap between the different picks, and there should either A) be a case/pouch to store everything that you can carry WITH the GravPick, or B) the GravPick itself should have somewhere to store the extra picks. I know it's a size constraint, but I don't think people would mind it being a little bit bigger to have a better user-experience overall. I hope there is a V2 in the future that alleviates some of these annoyances. If I'm carrying this thing around, I'm not going to carry it around in the box in comes with (thought, it is a nice box), but I also don't want to carry the little plastic bag with tiny screws and picks in it in my pocket just in case I need to swap them out. That defeats the purpose of the size. I'm not sure this tool is actually meant to be used more than it is just a fidget toy with a few lock picks included. For the price of $65 USD, taxes (~$5), and shipping (also ~$5, so $75 all-in), I would not recommend this product. BUT, back to my first point, DAMN it feels good when you get comfortable flicking the pick out and back in.
