I think this is a sequel and a soft reboot. It’s kind of like Gen 5 of My Little Pony, which is a direct sequel to Gen 4, however it omits the later seasons of said series.

I like Paranorman way better than Boredaline I'm almost certain that Coraline is known more for its (emo) iconography (ie the proper Coraline, the cat, and mother button eyes) than by its story

A.J. could pretty organically fit into hazels family either as antony (cause the a initial in aj could be antony) or as an uncle or something (cause a.j.'s last name was never revealed in the original show so he could be a.j. wells) It would be a rad but still organic way to tie aj into the new show, aj was fairly underutilised in the og show espically in the later seasons so it would be a rad way to flesh him out etc.

It still shocked me that a stop-motion animated film like 'Missing Link' would not only cost Laika $101.3 million, but it resulted it to be in the Wikipedia list of the biggest box office bombs.

I mainly just think it would be cool for them to give an in universe explanation for why he just disappeared. I like it when series acknowledge their bad stuff and build off of it to make something good instead of just pretending it never happened

My only issue so far is Hazel’s a bit bland as a protagonist. Timmy was such a character were Hazel’s just kinda quirky. Also her life doesn’t really that bad. Her parents are good, her schools not that bad, almost all the students seem nice and friendly. Timmy’s life was hell on earth at times. Made for a fun watch. But I do appreciate the new ensemble of characters rather than reuse old ones. I wouldn’t mind not seeing the og cast at least for a season.

I can agree with that. So far her problems don’t seem anywhere near as bad as Timmy’s. Some people said they liked that it is just more fun than sad. It’s also only been one episode, so I’m sure we will see more things about her character. She’s a step up from Chloe, even is she is Bland. Timmy just works so well as a character that it will be hard to top!
