I'd put Miccuci Velma on the lower ranking because Miccuci really doesn't do the character justice. She sounds like Daisy from Nature Cat, not the Velma I know from the 90s movies. Ward's voice is always the one I hear when I think of Velma Dinkley, because her performance was just excellent.

I think the main reason folks give the Hayley Kiyoko and Scoob versions a pass in contrast to the Mindy's Mysteries version is because they're, as the kids say, "White Passing enough." That, and they came out during a time when the social political landscape wasn't as cancerous as it is today. Back when the complaints for the time was, "Why isn't Fred a blond? What's up with the CGI?" and, "Why didn't they get their current voice actors? They're still working, and available. Did they really have to break Frank Welker's streak of being the only guy to voice (adult) Fred?"

I'd still put Mindy's Velma over Mystery Incorporated's because I get the feeling we're not SUPPOSED to be like "omg slay queen" whenever she's on screen like she's an INTENTIONALLY awful character. Maybe thre's some botched sympathy attempts but I feel like the intent is at the end of the day we're not SUPPOSED to agree with her. Wheras if we're supposed to disagree with Mystery Incorporated Velma, then yeah sure but at what cost? It's one thing to make an unlikeable character it's another to make a character that's just a passive agressive dick. And if we're supposed to AGREE with her then, idk that just leaves a bad taste in my mouth compared to every other Velma we were meant to like. Awesome video besides Scooby Velma has always been my favorite also glad to see more people liking HBO Velma ya the shows not perfect but its got merits and yes Velma being a dick is the biggest issue but she does become better by the half way point of season2 neck the entire gang does as does the shows over all guilty its still not perfect but so since season 2s come out I've watched it a couple of times, hoping if there is a 3rd season or at least a Halloween special they keep improving and make not so great Velma into the snarky smart mouth with a big brain and heart we all know and love good luck to Mindy hope she nails the landing

Velma may be pretty average in Scoob but Dynomutt is just downright awesome in that movie (easily the best incarnation of him).

Dynomutt has always been fun to see. I think I do like him to be a little goofier than blue falcon, but it was a fun thing to see them on the big screen no matter what!!!

@@TheShoogyShoo Personally, I would be fine with a spinoff movie starring that version of Blue Falcon and Dynomutt (where the personalities are pretty much swapped as it averts the dumb dog trope I'm so sick of). As much as I love goofy classic Dynomutt, I think the snarkier and more serious Dynomutt is infinitely cooler and I'd be down to see more of him.

@@TheShoogyShoo I gotta warn you, theres a couple seasons after Scrappy's first season(which in season one included the whole gang and a different Scrappy voice I wasnt fond of) that are tough to get thru because of the format change. Theres a stretch of about 99 seven minute episodes that just feature Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy where theres barely any mystery element and most of the time the monsters are real. It does rebound a little in the Scrappy and Yabba Doo shorts. They bring things back around when Daphne comes back and the mystery element is brought back into the storylines Scrappy at that point had matured somewhat as a character and was more helpful in the mystery solving.

Actually, Velma's heritage has been part of her character. She's canonically Jewish. She listens to Jewish music and says oy vey in Mystery Incorporated, and Frankencreepy was all about her German heritage and was revealed they AMERICANIZED their surname from Von Dinklestein to Dinkley, in other words, they had to hide their culture because of anti-German sentiment and possibly antisemitism. I'd say the same for Daphne. Daphne's Scottish and French heritage was deemed important enough to give her a movie (Loch Ness Monster), a TV episode in France (Ready to Scare)

Sigh… I’m sry I have to say it: Velma Kaling was my favourite. The animations cool, I like the designs and I’m the type of person who finds the jokes funny. Also, I found this Velma to actually be quite relatable (Ik everyone will hate it but I will literally do a whole list backing her up on some of the things she did that were considered “evil”) as someone who is outcasted as well as being self aware mostly about my autism as well as existence overall and I compare almost everything to pop culture. Also in my school, everyone’s an a-hole and I was also 15 like the character when the show first came out
