do you plant multiple potatos in different levels? 2 potatos on bottom and 2 more in the middle?

Love your site, looks like the best way to go. I have always grown them in the ground but this year voles got a hold of a good bucket of them and had a chew feast, so time to try something new. Just curious though, when you say compost do you mean bags of animal manure? I haven't seen bags of just compost. thanks

Your method is good but expensive to do. Compost is ever more expensive. Could you re use compost?

I sprinkled my onto compost layer in a tub, watered, put lid on and after 3 days VOILA. Just carefully remove and relocate. Tub in full sun and its Summer in Cape Town, South Africa.

Katrina! I felt exactly the same as you. You did so well compared to me 🙏 your plot looks amazing and so much harvest. 😊I worked so hard all winter and raised all my baby plants. Planted them out, caring for them and slugs ate everything 😢😢😢😢😢 nothing recovered 😢 it was too late to start everything again 😢😢😢 I bought a couple of plugs but they never trived 😫 I am getting inspired watching your videos now so I can plan for next year ❤❤❤❤

you do not need to make a flap. Its a bad way to do it. You need to put them in light as light helps them germinate. They need to be on a stem with thinner bark that that too. You need to put them as a bird would scraping it from its beak. You are putting them in bad places and the technique is bad.

Maybe I'll try next year to do bulb lasagna... this year I've planted some crocuses and will also do a handful of allium; a few tree lily and tulip; and squill next to the crocuses once the ground is cooler

Just discovered and watched your video on Medaka fish, this has probably been said to you but that metal tank is going to get really cold in winter as its no insulation i was going to ask if the fish survived the winter as i was going to make a pond myself but not out of metal mayber plastic or wood, i remember when i used to rear pheasants and had galvanised water feeders and they were the firts thing to freeze, same material as your tank pond, anyway enjoyed the video and learnt some stuff myself, thanks

Hehe ! that's amazing, my dad has blueberry farms in my hometown in north of Iran. I came to the UK to study few years ago and every summer I visit blueberry farms here to just see the differences varieties and planting them. went to Bournemouth this year and bought this cute little blueberry plant in a small pot , I supposed it needs repotting now so as it has got tall. I searched in youtube and came across your lovely video! thank you for sharing your experience! Im gonna repot it and use peat free and ericaceous compost! is there something else you advise me to add at this stage? Saba

Best thing to do is use pool noodles. The cold and the sun/heat will damage the skin. Pool noodles keep it away, we’ve used them for 5 years and not had a single hole, split or crack

I have size envy 😄 My allotment doesn't allow for tall trees and I really miss the feeling of containment you get from hedges and trees and upwards growth. I'd love to have fallen leaves on my plot and a place for the birds to dart between.

I just discovered your channel and your allotment is superb. I have gardened for 50 years and only have a small West Yorkshire garden so I grow dwarf apple trees (James Grieve) which yield full size apples and plenty of them. I feed hungry squirrels, along with the birds, and they all leave my produce alone. They never touch it. I seem to have a solitary rat (I like rodents) which lives somewhere near and in the compost heap, and it causes no trouble. I live in a neighbourhood of cats which also cause no trouble. What does cause trouble is the vine weevil beetle and its ravenous offspring. I think nematodes have won that battle as I have seen no damage this year. Fingers Xd. May your allotment forever be vine weevil free. 🙂 PS I grow the Mignon variety of dahlias as the centres are magnets for pollinators.

Anytime my plants are left to their own devices I like to imagine they enjoy it…kind of like ”mom’s away, we’re having ice cream for dinner and staying up late!” I also really loved watching you grow your wedding flowers; your husband making a guest appearance in this one is so sweet. Wishing you a very happy birthday! 🎉

Greetings from Western Washington! Momma & I got the shed for her and Daddy's property, Dove's Nest, in 1996 and never finished the inside. We just went straight into using it. It's seen it's better day indeed! It was always our dream to make it functional and beautiful but... sadly it just never happened. I lost her last year and here I am looking at it yet undone still. I adore your little shed and am so glad you've finally made it your own. Enjoy all your hard work! Blessings to you from the great Pacific Northwest! 💛🖤💛
