A huge thing you might want to know is that the rs3 mini with the s5ii via usb can track moving human targets using the cameras human detection. This is a feature unique to lumix cameras on dji gimbals. Search for "Lumix x DJI". It is almost completely unknown.

@ljmproductions15 күн бұрын
What camera are you using? The S5II/S5IIX? You may try adjusting the sled that slides onto the horizontal arm. You may be able to move to to the left further without it coming off the end which would enable your camera to clear the right vertical arm and motor apparatus.

Actually, I have found that it works really well with the S5II! You may be thinking of the Bluetooth functions which are not compatible, but all the other functions including USB-C control of the camera are available. I made a video breaking it all down: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoHChmV-htFnZs0 Thanks for watching, and hope that helps!

@ljmproductions1 Sure, I use the basic kit 20-60mm
@ljmproductions16 күн бұрын
Okay perfect. I know for sure that setup does work together because it is the exact setup I have. My guess is that the gimbal is not balanced properly. Have you checked to make sure that everything is relatively neutral when the gimbal is powered off and you unlock all the motors? When balanced properly, the camera should pretty much stay in any position you put it. I have made the mistake of not balancing in the vertical dimension when balancing the tilt axis which yields poor results. Here's a short that explains balancing a gimbal pretty well: kzbin.infoJPIgU7DkRj0?si=Gamga7tk_hjtoNQ_ Let me know if that helps you out!

What about 4K video editing - though I do use proxies, I've just ordered an Oyen 8Tb external SDD that has insane specs. I hope to edit directly from it in 4K. Any comments on my thought there?
@ljmproductions1Ай бұрын
Hey Dawg! :) That SSD looks like it has easily enough speed to handle editing at any resolution. 4K should not be a problem. The potential bottleneck will be in the ports of your computer. If they aren't fast enough, you won't get to take advantage of the blazing fast read/write speed of the external SSD. That being said, I edit 4K video off my external drives with only minor lag, and I only have USB 3.0. Do you know what speed the ports are on your computer?

My BiL's mom lived at base of Kiamichi. She would ride her mule to the ridge and walk up it in the dark before daylight to man the fire lookout tower all day, then after dark walk back down the mountain home.
@ljmproductions12 ай бұрын
That's a cool story! So she worked at the tower?
@johnjefferson12602 ай бұрын
Yes for the US Forrest Service back in her day. If she were still alive, she would be over 100. She was a little woman, born in 20's, but she was a force to be reckoned with.
@johnjefferson12602 ай бұрын
Mountains are beautiful but dangerous. A LOT of black bear and big cats. BiL had a hay meadow in Big Cedar, between the river and the mountain, was not raining here, he drove across the river in his 1-ton 4x4 Dodge, loaded 6 round bails on trailer and when he got back to river, it was about 4' deep. Rain in Ark. had come down the river which he crossed the river bed just in front of. My sister had to drive around to 259 and come in from 3 sticks to pick him up as he could not get back across river. My BiL was USFS LEO, and sister was the Public Affairs specialist, talks to news media, CNN, FOX, Etc. She was on natl news when the night time thunderstorms in Arkansas flooded that USFS Albert Pike camp ground in middle of night and drowned 20 people including 8 children. When it rains, mountains cause fast runoff and water comes up very fast. Had a co-worker of mine in TDCJ-PD in Texarkana, lost her parents and her children in that flood.

I could not make any of my videos without a 360 cam. X4 is way better than the X3 in the footage quality. I am actually using 2 of them at the same time often...
@ljmproductions12 ай бұрын
What are your settings in Insta360 Studio to get the best quality?
@VRMinde2 ай бұрын
@@ljmproductions1 I change them according to what specific shot I need and the light conditions. If I was filming in low light - I go full on 4k 200mbps 25fps for steady shots and 2.7k 50fps for moving things.. If the light was great I reduce the bit rate a lot. I use in-camera stitching and AI stitching but of course I am conscious how to point the camera when filming so key objects are not in the stitch area
@ljmproductions12 ай бұрын
Okay, cool, good info. I've been doing 4K 100mbps for everything, so maybe I'll try some different settings for different conditions like you say. It looked to me like the image captured by the camera had issues with compression in the shadows, so my assumption would be that it wouldn't be better quality than that after export, but I could be wrong.
@VRMinde2 ай бұрын
@@ljmproductions1 it will likely have a bit worse quality in shadows. Every tool has a purpose this one - lets you choose the view angle in post-production... So, it is worth sacrificing some quality for me, for specific needs..

The best combination for a traveler is a good smartphone and a 360 camera (set on 8k mode) - then what you want to frame/zoom in, you record with your smartphone, and where the action is happening, you record 360 and you have your hands free. Every piece of equipment needs to be used properly and every film needs to be edited if it is to be enjoyable to watch. But the freedom (when I'm climbing for ex.) given by 360 camera is just unbeatable.
@ljmproductions12 ай бұрын
Great thoughts! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Pretty accurate video IMO. I think part of what you didn't explore more than maybe one sentence was the point about the selfie stick being invisible. The reason I moved off of my gopro for snowboarding is the ease of getting shots of both me and friends while doing something highly dynamic. Its much easier to just hold the stick out as opposed to having to keep an eye on my buddy, coordinating the camera movements, and making sure I dont catch an edge in chopped up snow. Deep track works well enough if you Stay close enough to make reframing a non issue for me but I can definitely see it being annoying
@ljmproductions12 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing that perspective! I guess to be honest, I don't have a really strong use case for a 360 camera, which contributes to my viewpoint of them. So you bring up a good point from your use of them 👍🏻
@Maximus.E2 ай бұрын
i think the main advantage or purpose of 360camera is unlike the usual cameras, 360camera will give you front and back and other direction shots without the need to manually point and shoot like your usual camera to reframe. video quality wise, its great, even after it was uploaded on social media where they reduce the quality a bit. it still decent for posting.
