The worst part is when you look at where all the money is going. Only about 10% goes to the roads and infrastructure. While 90% of it goes to the local school district.

No investors will drop their rentals prices, this will keep the prices up. If the fed doesn’t let the housing market crash, prices won’t drop much. Families (extended) may have to live together like back in the day.

I’m a first time homebuyer in Texas and I pay more in property taxes than I do on my mortgage principle and interest combined. Is that normal? Wow at the same time Amazon pays absolutely zero property taxes for their massive warehouses.

Texas property taxes are out of control. With exemptions for big corporations and caps for seniors all of the burden is being put on young homebuyers.

so what happens when optimus robots are made available in the next few years or within a decade. then i guess there wont be a market for housing. its becomes like clothing. Fashionable aesthetically pleasing homes will become the norm. the current modular homes will sink to the cost of shipping container homes now

How partisan can this be in a hypothetical way to on the one hand assert Baltimore City property tax system as the fault of “Democratic Mafia” at the state and city level while at the same time citing the success of San Francisco and Boston property tax reforms without crediting their Democratic State and City governments. But again the guest was a Reagan economic council advisor where policies destroyed the great American middle class and propelled us to where we are today ushering in the Oligarchy where half the incoming cabinet are Billionaires.

I'm happy it's coming to and end, my taxes went up 120% from 2020 to 2021 in Marion oaks Ocala. And evey year it went up again the greed of this county is unbelievable

House prices are not directly included because the CPI focuses on the cost of consumption rather than investment. Mortgage interest payments are also excluded because they represent financing rather than consumption...

This is really helpful. But you said you are looking for brown but I full time in a camper and it turns yellow. It's just #1 and#2. I was reading that it was yellow because of iron being processed by bacteria.

Large investors should have no play in single family homes that can be sold to low or middle income people. This just leaves the door open for them to take part in buying power when there in strength left the low and middle income. The price of everything is going up which lessens the income for the home buyers.

Houses should not appreciate, they should depreciate bc everything in a home ages, it doesn’t improve magically (unless it’s renovated). They are built to last 20-30 years. The mortgage terms are also problematic bc the initial years the payment is interest heavy and principal light. So when you go to sell your house early on for some reason, the principal has barely changed, yet you’ve made quite a few payments of mostly interest. Why DOES the bank receive the interest first in an amortization loan? It’s not the bank’s money and the money doesn’t even actually exist. Paying interest first destabilizes home ownership and hence the housing market. How much more reasonable would it be if mortgage payments reflected an installment loan rather than an amortization loan? How much more quickly would it be paid off? Amortization Mortgages are a scam and a poor tool to use for home ownership.

I’m sorry but I do not agree with Amy when it comes to real estate agents, most, if not all, are slimy, shady people. Had I never talked to my tax accountant and lawyer, I would’ve never known my father in law can sell me their home below market value. Meanwhile this so called great agent was telling me, you can’t do that, it needs to sell at market value. If a chase mortgage broker is telling me that’s complete and utter bullshit, you know something’s up.

I would disagree with the ideology that because people willingly overpaid for properties created a bubble. Lenders were not lending on these inflates prices. Appraisers weren't falsely inflating appraisals for the most part. We are taking about people with extra cash deciding to overpay for a property. Sales Price may have posted publicly but again... appraisals were priced more reasonably thus preventing a false value. As for costs. Yes. On one hand costs went up but on another hand the conglomerates falsely marked up costs to increase profit margins. How else can anyone explain record profits? Lastly, supply and demand is real. The US is somewhere between 5 to 7 million short on homes. This helps value increase. This is great for homeowners.

Costs? I own (4) modest rentals and my property taxes and insurance costs have more than tripled over the past 3 years, I pass the costs along or get out of the business. Inflation considered, my house value (dollars) is down about 18% over the past 30 months. (zip- 34606)

Dystopian future incoming. I think it’ll be somewhat similar to Robocop or Judge Dredd. Most of society had nothing and a very select few had everything. The corporation (OCP) owned the police force and the city. I am mentally prepared for what’s coming. I have gotten accustomed to living with less, being happy with less, while saving and investing more. My wife is from Brazil, and the standard of living here is so much better than she doesn’t see it yet. I tell her all the time that the day will come when we’ll have to live in Brazil and it’s better to live in Brazil with US dollars to take there.

Because he never went through what they have, it doesn’t occur to him that the best way to figure out how to make the world’s biggest entity run more efficiently is to come at it from a profit and loss perspective.

I've bought multiple homes in my life, I've only met 2 REALTORS who were worth a crap. REALTORS are just the used car salesman of the home industry.. they suck..

My taxes for a house in Philadelphia, PA went up by 300% over years, and I could not stay there and had to sell. Then the same thing happened again in another part of Philadelphia. The real estate valuations are always unfair and too high.
