Since I first learned this in about 1972 I’ve always played the bass part riding that B with the Keith vamps thrown in. Every bar band does it doubling the guitar part though and now and then till this day I’ve had people ask me why it sounds so much heavier when whatever group I’m in plays it. Because you ride the B. That’s why! Let the guitars do their part. Let the bass do its part. That’s the secret!

Correct me if I’m wrong but this might be the only Rolling Stones with Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, and Mick Taylor, playing the guitars. Keith plays lead, Jagger plays rhythm, and Taylor plays slide, it’s really interesting and fascinating.

John and Paul were on a roll.... their weakness was not recognising or indeed purposely ignoring the emerging talent that was beside them. This is a long..long...long. story... going back to their childhood days when age and rank was superior....this unfortunately they carried into their formative years and blinded ( some would say quite rightly so but wrongly ) the fellow genius that sat beside them. I've always been amazed that there weren't many collaborations between them, John/Paul / George.....but John once said it was a John /Paul... Paul/John agreement on the writing front and George was initially ignored and pushed into the background. But it just shows what an immense talent was boiling away underneath and the meeting of the Four members was somewhat of a symposium...... Times have greatly changed but somewhere.. somehow... many years from now there will be a meeting of like-minded individuals who will possibly... maybe... equal these masters of music... let's hope so and keep hope alive..👍👍👍👍

I hope this can help me remake this on Rhythm Core Alpha 2. It’s the one Nirvana song (excluding Bleach because I haven’t gotten started with that project) that I currently (even after using RCa2 for the first times back in its prime around 2013-14) have no idea how to remake with all the tracks playing at once. I guess with each track isolated, it could make things much easier for me.

Believe it or not John didn’t use the Rickenbacker in this song or most of the Cosmo’s Factory. In fact he used almost exclusively both of his Les Paul Customs with the exception of “Who’ll stop the Rain”( that is the Ric, and recorded way earlier than the rest of the album). In an interview with Vintage Guitar Magazine, John basically stated that by the time they Cosmo’s Factory recording sessions he had basically phased out the Ric 325 in the Studio entirely. The Ric 325 was replaced by his first LPC that was converted 3/4 scale length in March 1969. He added a Bigsby B5 whammy bar for standard tuning. In April of 69 he bought a second Les Paul to leave stock for Open D tuning. He grew really frustrated and really hated the Ric’s extremely poor tuning stability.

Hey man, firstly, I want to thank you sincerely for the time and effort you put into your videos. I NEVER comment but this video puts the human in perspective behind the work, and that is ultimately what is most important. You are valued, you matter, and as a music loving community, we are here BECAUSE of you. You made this channel happen. We're here because you did that. Keep on keeping on.
