Thanks very much for posting this. Interesting that Ray sings "Girls", rather than "Girl" (at least at the beginning of the song).

So nice, groove af. Can you please tell me how you get this separated stems? I´m asking because when I was young, in the 90s, I had a computer that had a dos software installed. In this software, I could mix separated stems as I wish, and it was the seed of how I became a music producer. And among it´s tracks, it had Jumpin Jack Flash, and I remember spending hours playing with it. But I´ve never found this software and don´t remember it´s name. Anyway, I bit random, but... thanks!

If Nicky didn't play the piano, chances are Keith or Mick played the piano or even Bill Wyman!!

Amazing. The grit in Lennons vocals was crazy. And the energy in the music.

The photograph in the guitar section depicts Robert White playiing a Gibson hollow body ES 335, or Gibson L-5, not an accoustic guitar. Joe Messina is playing a Gibson Thunderbird (notice the frets). Joe also played a Fender Telecaster, and Eddie "Chank" Willis (not pictured) played a Gibson Thunderbird III during motown recording sessions.

Bill Wyman should have had a writing credit. The riff comes from his bassline

Is it me or is the E string on the bass out of tune?? It sounds a quarter step or more flat. Did they do their own tuning or did they have someone inhouse do it??

If he’s using the Hofner it was notorious for having terrible intonation by this time.

had the song in my head, humming it to myself. Then I realized the song Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel was eerily similar and while comparing the 2, this algorithm'd up...glad I found it...and discovered Peter's secret! lol

I’m watching those videos to get inspiration, because tomorrow I’ll play a D&D character (a tiefling sorcerer guy) which main bases are Lupin III, V (V for Vendetta), Lorenz Hellman Gloucester and Shadow The Hedgehog. Oh my poor party, they’re doomed 🤣

Been trying for 30 years and tons of gear to get Keith's tone on this, I think this might be a case where he just plugged right into the mixing board and that makes sense because he said Andy Johns worked for about 48 hours on it because Keith was so insistent on getting a certain sound. I think Keith was hoping for a spot a little higher on the charts but it only reached #5.

Rocky Dijon: inventor of Dijon mustard. His percussion spices up this track. It’s a good thing Grey Poupon wasn’t available. It would have sounded pooped on. Bill really perks things up on bass. (Get it? His birth name is Perks)
