Have a 2006 Soverign with leak in the same area. Due to a hole in the tub a HS tech filled it with Devon, then disconnected the Moto massage and plugged the 1/4” tubing. Apparently the tube fell off and the spa slowly drained to just below the 1/4” fitting. If I put the tubing back in I’m guessing that will stop the leak. I rechecked the corner area by pulling the panels and insulation and didn’t see any moisture so thinking the leak is somewhere in the 1/4” tube line under the spa. I don’t need the Moto massage, just wanted to be certain the missing 1/4” tube was the issue for the drain. Should I use Devcon to fill the 1/4” hole or just put on new tubing and maybe a stainless clamp?? Thank you!

I have a 2008 Hot Springs Grandee, and the interior components match what’s shown in this video. I've already replaced the heater, so it has new sensors, and I also replaced the relay board due to a blinking LED issue. The water flow seems good-there’s a solid stream coming into the filter well, with good flow and bubbles coming from the bottom input. I replaced the circulation pump two years ago as well. After letting the spa cool down for a few days while replacing these parts, I turned everything back on and set the temperature to 100°F. At first, everything seemed fine: the relay board had a solid red light, the "call for heat" light was solid red, and the high-limit sensor had a solid green light. The spa was heating as expected. However, the next day, I noticed the relay board’s red light was blinking, and the temperature had risen to 105°F, even though the spa was set to 100°F (I verified this with a second thermometer). Neither the power nor the ready lights on the exterior panel have blinked or flashed-they’ve been functioning normally. I’d really appreciate any advice on next steps. Is it likely that I need to replace the motherboard and control panel at this point? Thanks in advance!

Hot springs tub with blinking red light. When I turn the breakers on it tries to start I hear a relay click then it dies and the red light blinks. The small circulation pump doesn’t seem to be working maybe? When I tap on it with a rubber mallet is spins slightly then stops again and that small circ pump is pretty hot. Could debris be in it or it just be old and tired and can that cause the failure to start w/ blinking red light? I was hoping there’s a work around where you unplug the circ pump and change the jumper settings so the bigger jets circulate the water to confirm it’s a bad small circ pump. I’ve done that on my dads hot tub but I cannot find the schematic for jumpers 1-12 other than where they’re supposed to be for that model. Hoping there’s a work around to confirm the bad circ pump. Any input is appreciated!!

Just about everything you mentioned comes down to a good deck design. I’ve built many decks around spas without issue - and in some ways - better than if the spa were set atop the deck at full height. It’s just not difficult to do it right. Getting in and out of a spa by going up the wood steps and then down into the water is the least convenient option… and least safe.

What if the circ pump turns off and on constantly. it is getting water flow when it’s on and just continues like this, spitting water out into the spa everytime it turns on. The temp comes up to setpoint and then after reaching setpoint for a while, faults out. I have a pressure switch on the circ pump outgoing line. I replaced the temp sensors and the pressure switch in hopes this would fix the issue. The circ pump was replaced by the previous owner a few years ago.
@craigsmith50255 ай бұрын
@bennettk90 an intermittent circ pump can be a loose connection at the board, or the filters are in the air when jets are on because the sliding wier door gets stuck in the up position when the jets are on.
@bennettk905 ай бұрын
@@craigsmith5025Ok I'll check to see if the door is keeping water from spilling over into the filter compartment. We replaced the filters, so they should be good. I did find the ozone hose was disconnected from the heater ozone inlet because I could hear the check valve gurgling. I reconnected the hose together and so far the temps are good and the heat has stayed consistent. The circ pump is still running 5 sec off 3 sec on, consistently. And each time it kicks on, the hot water does come out into the tub.

The MRE versions I'd guess have a thicker wrapper to keep air out and poptarts seem to have some air sealed inside the wrapper with them. In short my guess is the mre versions are vacume packed better than the store bought poptarts.
@craigsmith44367 ай бұрын
I saw an MRE video where they had the Pop Tarts. They were vacuum sealed in that military brown foil pouch with the white wax paper wrapper inside. I guessed the wax paper wrapper allows them to be tightly vacuum packed, whereas the mylar does not. So as an experiment, I put a pin-prick in the mylar wrapper, and sealed them tight as a snare drum in my home vacuum sealer. If they don't get gobbled up in the next two years, we'll see.

@craigsmith50259 ай бұрын
When the ready light blinks, it means there is an issue with the main temp sensor ( control thermistor). Or the control panel that reads the sensor is bad. Real old spas with knob rotation controls have a t-stat board that go bad and you cannot get those boards anymore. Does the spa still heat and function with the flashing green light?

@craigsmith5025 I like how thorough you are. Thank you. Very helpful. I’m having a hard time finding some info I’m looking for and you seem very knowledgeable. I have a mid 2000’s hot spring spa 240v dual breaker. It had a bad control board and had no functions or display. I replaced the control board and now I have a display, jets, light, and circulation. I also replaced the two sensors that go into the heater. The water temp is cold but I’m not sure it’s calling for heat. On the control board the red heater led is not lit up. I used a volt meter to test the wires going into the heater from the heater relay board and I have zero volts. I verified the breaker and input voltage are good. Any suggestions? Is my control board not commanding the relay board to send power to the heater? Or do I have a bad heater relay board? I’m not sure how to test this. Any information or a point in the right direction would be so helpful. Thank you very much!
