Pohatu couldn't have been brown in 2008 since it would be too dark of a color to contrast with the gray colors of the Toa Phantoka. They wanted gray to be the primary color of the toa, with a bright secondary color shining through it, which is also why Lewa lost his regular green color and only kept the lime green. It also fit the current story and its themes; I personally just see color changes like that to be a result of the adaptive armor Also for the 3 Matoran that got their names "changed," the pronunciations stayed the same; it's only the spellings that changed

The lawsuit never took place, but a representative did bring forth an official warning/complaint. Lego was willing to change it and Faber went and ended up becoming close with some of the tribes, and ultimately it never ended up being brought to court, as confirmed by Faber himself.

For the one about the Toa of stone not being brown anymore, it was apperently about sales numbers. The brown sets just didn't sell well. Furthermore, the exact shade of brown Pohatu uses was discontinued across all of Lego in 2004, being replaced by the reddish-brown of Onewa. Finally, Pohatu was brown, and his changing color was made note of in the comics when he was almost shot down due to one of the other toa(I don't remember which) not recognizing him and thinking he was one of the makuta.

I do agree about the Brotherhood of Makuta, I would have prefered it if Teridax was the only Makuta, simply called Makuta, and his Brotherhood was just his direct servents. Maybe a group of Kra-Matoran and Turaga, as well as Toa of Shadows, that willingly served him. I always did find it odd that Shadow was not an official Matoran Element, considering it was never seen as evil prior to the Makuta's betrayal, so why wasn't Shadow Matoran aka. Kra-Matoran ever made as an official element? Imagine if instead of enslaving or forcing other Matoran and Toa to help him, Makuta had a whole village of Matoran willingly serving him, knowing what he's doing but not caring due to their shadow nature making them amoral. There could have been a Turaga of Shadow serving as the direct link between him and the Kra-Matoran, and he could even have had Toa of Shadow as his elite forces. Imaging how much more interesting that could have been.

As long as the old technic ball joint is still around, the Toa Mata will never die! I’ve used at least one of those ball joints in every moc I’ve built. My most recent build is a performance stage with 5 microphones for my MLP pony figures.

I thought that the u shaped pin connector with the axle in the middle started out as feet on the slizers/throwbots, not to mention the bulky two axle to ball socket connectors that went on to be used for the the toa Mata. Also, anyone else know that the mata ball was used to make eyes for the mixels

Bohrok eyes and the ribbed hose actually aren't the same ones from bionicle, the ribbed hose now has a more simple base and the bohrok eyes are emptier inside (they used to have a bubble shape on the inside) now they are just fully empty and about the rahkshi staffs, remember that lerakh's staff was also pretty long lasting as it made an appearance in power miners in orange

you forgot a few more details: baljoint socket "yes, I know that this is a part from Slither and not Bionicle, but it's not the point", neck from Toa Hordika and Glatorian neck, pseudo-hydraulics from Titans 2006, rubber spines of Piraka minifigures that are used as vines. LEGO also left details from HERO FACTORY and G2 Bionicle: technic ball socket, claw and claw of the cranial scorpion. And details from action figures of Star Wars: round shoulder pad and 6-sided knee pad.
