The Nesquik figurines were also available in Mexico. I had the Reidak one and yes, they are Technic/System compatible. Nowadays I think I only have the disk launcher which is NOT compatible with the actual Kanoka ones.

I have a Piraka pencil that I got from a lego store around 2006. The thing is pretty awful because there's a sizable gap between the zipper and the rest of the case for some reason. I've been using it to hold a bunch of sharpies for the last 10 years. Also 2 videos in and still no mention of the splashy squids.

The set came with a red and green squid. Set id 851878. I don't remember if I have seen them in stores, but I know I've seen them in catalogs.

Wait that’s why that toa metru game on BioMediaProject is called bionicle Colgate??? Also, I actually had the voya nui board game you mentioned in the last video. The playing pieces were kinda like the toa inika minifigures but they were just one piece of plastic and werent poseable (my mom was helping me set up the game and accidentally twisted hewkii’s arm off as soon as he was out of the box) The object of the game was basically to race to the center of voya nui, with cards that either helped you move forward or hurt you. It was pretty basic gameplay wise but it did have one interesting mechanic. It came with a mini catapult that you would use to shoot a cutout of hakann for some challenges. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking but I guess it was fun for bionicle fans back in 2006. (And no I don’t know what happened to it, all my actual bionicle sets I do take good care of ofc)

The Bionicle shoes i knew as a kid, it was on the back of one of the comics in 2003. And there is a huge interest in the Rahkshi one as the bottom contains a trans-neon orange Kraata relwased exclusively in those shoes. Every so often i see the various shoes appear on eBay, and the 2004 offerings were less appealing, as they just used the Toa Metru masks near the top of the shoe.

On the topic of the key chains funny story about that. Just a little bit before I got a job when I was younger I was looking for ways to get bionicle sets/ parts cheap on ebay. I was looking around and I saw a silver ignika key chain. I thought it was really cool and really wanted to get it. I thought of like making a mini matoran build for it that could hang off my backpack. Infact my og self moc that like almost predates my channel was made based off that minibuild. Sadly I couldn't get it and it got bought up. It's really sad hearing that they are kinda rare bc I would have definitely snatched it up if I knew. It was like $10 so I assumed they were more common.

I used to own two figures from nesquik back in the day, and it was both piraka. I'm from Iceland, and I remember playing with them before I got my hands on the real figures. Only had Hahli and Machu until I was 6 years old and got thok and vezok. Good Times. I miss those times

I own a Bionicle Colgate motorized toothbrush, specifially 2 Gali Nuvas (one for my brother and I when we were younger). At least one of them still works today. I recall seeing them in stores as local as Shop Rite back in the day.

Yep i can confirm, the nesquik things were international, i live in chile and i also remember seeing the commercials for those in the tv, in spanish too, the only thing that i didnt like about them is that not all of them looked like the real figure, like kongu for example

The Nesquik mini-figures and the spinners was available in Hungary, when the Inika and Piraka sets were the current sets. I have the Jaller mini-fig and the Rediak spinner (I'm not 100% sure if it is Rediak, but I'm sure that I have it somewhere).

You should take a look at modern bootleg Bionicle merch. I started to look into Bionicle blankets because reasons, and I found one that's genuinely a crunchy, lightly fried .jpeg of a screenshot that looks to be a brickbuilt chibi Lewa rendered in Lego Digital Designer. Reverse image searching shows the same base image on a blanket, tote, iPhone 14 case, and others. But no original image.

I live in Poland and I remember having at least one of those spinners as a kid, I was wondering if you would talk about them. I definetely remember having the white one. I think I wanted to get some other spinners too but got frustrated when I opened the next package of cereals and it was yet another white Matoro spinner :) And I can't say this with 100% certainty, but I think it didn't have to be included in Nesquik specifically, as I think I got at least one of them from Cini Minis. If there's someone from Poland too maybe you can confim that.

There is one piece of merchandise I remember seeing in a store once as a kid, but my memory of it is so vague that I’m not sure I can recount it accurately. That being said, I remember coming across bionicle merchandise while clothes shopping. I think it was a shirt, but I strangely have no memory of the design. What I do remember is that it came with an actual bionicle piece in a little bag attached to the tag, as like… a bonus item. I think it was a toa weapon of some kind. I felt that it was odd. They just kinda… threw that in as an extra thing on a piece of clothing you were buying. I thought it was themed after the 2005 run, but looking back… I vaguely recall that it may have been an inika sword, so if that’s the case then I guess it was 2006. Either way… it’s one of those odd things in the back of my memory that I simultaneously remember so vividly and yet hardly remember any details about at all…

Pretty sure the Bionicle spinners never existed here in Mexico. Back then, Bionicle was completely unknown here unless you spoke english (The LEGO website was never translated to spanish until 2010 and not many people had computers back then) or unknown, original IPs were your thing. Hell, they were never even promoted here, not even ads, so it was very unlikely those promotional boxes were sold here

Bionicles weren't popular in Mexico, really? that's weird. In Argentina Bionicle was very popular. The movies were dubded and shown in cartoon network, the comercials too. In the supermarkets there were a lot of sets.

@@LatinusPrometheus-hw8pl Yes, Mask of Light was also broadcasted on CN a few times, you could find almost every single set in Walmart and other stores like Cimaco and the comics used to be really easy to find, but there were absolutely no ads on the TV, LEGO's website wasn't translated to spanish until 2010 (basically when bonks ended) and lots of children either were too broke to own a computer to experience and get invested in the lore, didn't speak english at all and/or were interested in boring ass generic shit like Dragon Ball, football, Pokémon and PS2 games
