I'd been noticing my oil level seemed to be going up, but it didnt dawn on me until today to sniff the dipstick. Sure enough, it smells like gas. Looks like its getting an off-season oil change.

I know you sold your truck at 200K. Curious what you bought to replace it as these mini diesels don’t exist anymore in the Colorado. Bummer. But for those watching this video, my experience is: 2017 Colorado Diesel, 66K miles, 2 nox sensors and particulate filter and something else emission systems related (got the dreaded “def fluid quality issue” warning light that eventually limited truck to 5 mph max speed ($3K for all that); heater diverter valve went out so no heat (plastic part buried in the dash … required complete removal of entire dash ($3K); replaced headlight bulbs with LEDs as the regular ones are horrible. As bad as this sounds, it’s still the best small truck I have ever owned (coming from a tundra & two tacomas). Feels like a truck, super comfortable, rides great (mine the long bed), unreal fuel economy (I’ve got upwards of 600 miles a tank (20 gal)) … the thing sips fuel … amazing range. Tows like a charm. Overall great. The emissions system is the real problem with so many sensors and unknowns … but that’s how modern diesels are in this country.

@@ericg.7053 rear window leaking basically brand new. Purge valve had to be replaced. Something to do with the gear shifter not going into park completely so the key wouldn’t come out. @austinhs6925 it's okay. Great in some ways not so much in others. I might try selling it after I move, and getting the dodge eco diesel long bed. I would love a truck with an 8ft bed. Or I might just build a custom 7.5 foot flat bed for the chevy

Probably not a super huge deal, but you used the wrong oil. I learned this by doing the same thing. The oil you want to use is Dexos 2 (blue Dexos symbol). You used Dexos 1 Gen 2 which is incorrect. I found only Dexos 2 at Walmart in Pennsoil for “European Cars” (blue Dexos symbol) and that’s supposedly the correct version. To me oil is oil. The Dexos labeling is very confusing. You have tons more miles on your rig than I do so again it probably isn’t as critical as my dealer insisted it was when they told me I had used the incorrect version of Dexos.

I am learning that the oil is more for a warranty void from the manufacture. I sold this to a friend of mine after about 250,000 miles. He changed the transmission oil and it runs like the day I bought it.

You created extra work by removing all those connectors at the positive bus bar which was not necessary. Fondupot's Garage YT channel 'battery removel' for this model of truck illustrates how. Otherwise...nice job.

You did moisten your lawn before application correct? If it rains cats and dogs within 24hours after application it's only going to be semi effective. You will need to do a re-do for sure. After application make sure the lawn receives zero water for 48-72 hours. That's my 50 years of experience...

This stuff works so well as long as its not 95 degrees on your lawn all day, it will burn if the temp gets that high. Also, its fine if it rains, the fertilizer gets in deeper and the weeds die from the ground up.
