The second coldest one liner in Epic. First is "Next to my wife", second is "No." immediately after the suitor says open arms. Just No. Full stop, no fanfare, no emotion, just a cold, calculating "No."

Yes I am aware that the last song referenced "I'm Just a Man" and not "No Longer You" I am also aware that Athena was with Telemachus! This is what happens when you listen to something late at night and don't have lyrics in front of you! 😂

im so late to this but the campaign is based off the album, the album was the start of cazilor, and hes currently working on tales from cazilor 2 (the second album, and he said itll be less worldbuilding and more adventure) the campaign isnt a required listen to understand cazilor, its not connected to the album other than sharing a world, its just some bonus content

The thing with the Challenge is that Odysseus's bow had a unique recurve on it, that only he was strong enough to physically string and wield it properly. So, Penelope essentially issued an impossible task to the suitors to buy more time for Odysseus to return.

Hi Suho! I recommend watching the audition process that happened for Antinuous, because the voice originally auditioned for Tiresias, but Jay also suggested the character which HE KILLED! His voice is amazing! Also, the fast piano rift you heard when Telemachus arrives is because that's what the Suitors hear when Telemachus uses Athena's quick thought! When in perspective of Athena, Odysseus, or Telemachus, we hear the slower version because we're seeing things from their eyes, but this time, we see through the suitors' eyes and that's why we only hear the fast version

The fact that the FINAL SONG of the WHOLE SERIES reprises Just A Man - arguably the song that got the hype going in the first place, THE SONG WHERE ALL ODY SINGS ABOUT IS WANTING TO BE HOME WITH PENELOPE AND TELEMACHUS - is just. An absolute stroke of genius. My god. There truly is nothing like epic the musical out there.

A few things I love about this saga: 0.5: Vibes. Immacilate. 1: Penelopy vs the Suitors in what they call the bow. 2: In Hold Them Down you hear the singer (Forgot his name) have very different tones in the 2 actions he is describing. Clearly he has wanted the second one a lot more than the first, and it is his realization he will get it. 3: Since we know Odysseus's instrument is a Guitar we can notice its tempo really well here. My favorite example is in the last song where you can hear him get angry and *instantly* calm down the moment Penelopy explains herself. 4: In Odysseus we hear, similar to Polythemus and Ruthlessness, the "Boss" of the song being sung by the choire. Only now Odysseus is the Boss. Not even Carybdis got such a treat and their song is just named after them.

Fun Fact!: The number of times Ody fires his bow at the end is the same number of times Polyphemus strikes his club in Survive, 15, and the chanting in the background ends with the same length as the "PO-LY-PHE-MUS" chant in the opening of Survive, signifying musically, Odysseus truly has become the monster.

Something I noticed: At 44:33, I can hear the Waiting motif in the background when he's talking about the wedding bed, which I believe it's from Penelope, who has been waiting for Odysseus and wasn't sure of he was the man she loves, but hearing him remembering and talking about the symbol of their love is like her hope and joy is slowly rising, cuz the man she loves is truly back and she has been waiting for so long before she explains herself and says he's still the man she loves and let it know that she's been waiting for him for so long. Then we go to 45:45, I hear the Just a Man motif in the background, which feels like now that he's back with the love of his life, after she accepts him, after she says he's still the man she love, that's when he's no longer a monster and has transformed back to just a man with his wife. It's so beautiful and such a genius thing that I'm sobbing like a bitch.

Love Penelope giving the suitors an impossible challenge like that because she knows they would spend hours trying too string ody's bow but knew they would fail cause not only is it a different type of bow then they are used to meaning it has a different stringing method but it also just has a ridiculous amount of draw strength since Odysseus is quite literally built different

So heres the DL.This cinematic is supposed to show Ambessa being grievously wounded and near death when she is approached by Kindred, this worlds (Runeterra) Death Spirit/Reaper represented by the wolf and the lamb. The Kindred test her and find her resilience satisfactory. By proving her worth, she is allowed to remain alive and the wolf leaves. More specifics are below. This cinematic again shows all of this happening and how she became a "chosen of the wolf." The Kindred again appears to mortals as they die as both the lamb and the wolf. Lamb uses a bow and arrow and is said to kill those who willingly accept death as well as those who die peacefully. The Wolf savagely chases and tears apart any who try to escape death as well as those who die from violent means. In addition, Kindred appearance will match those based off their own culture. Because Noxus tends to be a war happy nation they only worship the wolf. As the Noxians see it, dying in bed does not bring you glory or honor. Dying in battle? That will give you honor. To this extent the lambs only purpose is to lead you to the wolf Theres a lot of symbolism between the wolf and the lamb, we see her give up the lamb to be with the wolf. The lamb here not only showcasing the entity but also her innocence and the assumed peaceful life she had before.

You noting the Polyphemus similarities is apt. Ody is exactly being the kind of monsters he encountered throughout his journey. Polyphemus was the first, so you hear it most in the instrumentals. The choir chanting "Ody-sseus" because it's his boss fight, plus you can hear the cello throughout it that was playing in Polyphemus. You already pointed out the Get in the Water reference with Ody's "no" which is paired with a Ruthelessness reference in the guy begging to be spared. He hunts like Scylla, aiming for the torches. One thing not many others have been pointing out is Ody's "mercy" rant being a parallel to Zeus' wrath in God Games. "No one beats me, NO ONE beats my game." "All of you who have done me wrong, THIS will be your fate."

The Just A Man theme playing in the end is so beautiful 😭. It's practically saying that despite everything that's happened and every "monstrous" thing he's done, he's still just a man who wanted to go home. His roots, just like the wedding bed, can't truly be cut away as long as his wife and son are there

According to Gwendy the animator for "Odysseus" in the live, Odysseus was tamed down, the first drafts of the song was so much darker and brutal. Now, I can't help but think about it. Hope Jorge releases the cut songs and the original drafts of the last 3 songs cuz I remember him saying he have to rewrite the last songs so many times.

The Athena theme in Odyseus was Telemachus showing up because hes her new warrior of the mind so he constantly has her power. He fought the suitors and when Telemachus was on the ropes Ody saved him and then just murdered them all.

Here's a few things i found but take them with a grain of salt because i could be seeing things were they aren't In 4:50 and 45:12 when Penelope sings the Waiting motif, it's longer than normal. I believe characters tend to sing "waiting" 4 times tops. This shines a light on the fact that no one in Epic has waited for Ody quite like Penelope did. This is specially true in Would You Fall in Love With Me Again. Also, during The Challenge Waiting motif, the suitors back up Penelope by singing her name as if she was singing to them when in reality the "waiting" is for Ody instead of them. The entirety of Odysseus (the song) plays like a battle. Ody's declaration of having had enough is the beginning of the battle, the "Where is he!?" part is Ody dominating the flow of battle. The suitor calling for Open Arms is an attempt at surrendering which Ody doesn't accept. When the suitors enter the armory and Telemachus appears the song introduces him like a new great ally for Odysseus has entered the battle and that's why his Legendary motif sounds like a heroic fanfare. Then Melanthius, the suitor directly directly talking to Telemachus, rallies the other men because he sees a chance for winning against Ody. The suitors then try to overwhelm Telemachus and as they see that is slowly working they start chanting "Hold Him Down" because now the tide of battle is turning into their favor. Ody then decapitates Melanthius in front of the remaining suitors which causes them to surrender and flee. The end of the song then announces Ody as the victor as he stands in the middle of numerous dead bodies like a monster. While Hold Them Down is a very dark song mainly because what Antinous implies what he and the other suitors will do to Telemachus and specially Penelope, i find it great that he barely even got to announce his ploy and nothing else. It's amazing that Epic didn't shy away of going into such a dark direction this time but to balance it out, Antinous dies as soon as he finishes explaining to the suitors and us, the listeners, what he plans to do to Penelope. If we got another extra song on Antinous performing some minimal advance on Penelope or Telemachus the saga could have turned out to be somewhat off putting to some listeners.

Athena was actually helping Telemachus making him the new warrior of the mind. When the suitors got Telemachus that’s when Odysseus showed up.

I wanna say a cpl of things, arcane is very worth it but I'm sure you've heard tons of ppl recommending it already (reaction videos or not i hope you experience it ). The woman in this video is Ambessa who is in arcane and in game now , watching arcane will complete the picture and watching someone like Necrit (a league lore expert) explain the music video adds so much to it (i would share some details but i suck at explaining stuff :D ). I see a lot of ppl commenting this under arcane related vids so i thought I'd share it, netflix has nothing to do with the making of arcane , riot and studio fortische made it and netflix is just a platform for it. For the music itself i loved it , i love that the singer sounds a lot like Ambessa , i had this song on repeat the days before season 2 came out , and i love how knowledgeable you are ab the more technical stuff so i learned a cpl of things from ya ! Have a great day :D
