There is no real exercise for increasing the space. We now know that it is training resilience to compression gradually. For example a competitive swimmer impinges the subacromial space every stroke and on scanning of pain free swimmers they have a thickened subacromial bursa which is an adaptation to the load in the area, a bit like calluses on you hands and feet. The key is gradual pain-free progression to allow the adaptation to slowly occur

Omg the same thing with MRI happened to me, I paid over 300 euro for it, was told the arm and pec would be visible but guess what > it wasn't, so it did show frozen shoulder tendon tears etc but not the tendons/muscle of the pec which I am sure I also have (it is healing on its own maybe e thinks so far) but it hurt(s) like hell when I'd touch it initially, now still hurts but slightly less its been 4 weeks after injury) and possibly tear of bicep?, I have weird small muscle bump in the middle or my arm to front where no muscle should be across horizontally like that (believe it or not whoever I saw so far agreed it is a muscle where it should'nt be but no one knew to say which muscle it is??) , but none of these are visible on MRI, and I am still waiting to be seen by orthopedics actually, 10 days to go! which will be 6 weeks post-injury then!

Thank you so much, I think videos like these should only be made by people who actually experienced it lol as lots of times I see doctors or physiotherapists or who not have no clue what they are talking about unfortunately, not even doctors who are commenting MRIs of people with injuries

Hi. Interesting testing but I am not sure to get it. You trained with weights AND Compex. How can you assess the gain from Compex alone ? How do you assess that the weight lifting alone was not responsible for the overall gain ? Ideally, would have done a 12 weeks program with only Compex at work, as seen what results you achieve... or did I get something wrong ? Thank you.
@MathewHawkes
@MathewHawkes 2 ай бұрын
I added compex to my normal weight program that I had been doing for years and so any gains would be from the addition of the compex

Sorry i missed that inormation. Interesting ! But would you agree, it does not mean that the “net” alone is valid: putting Compex alone would probably not succeed in a similar gain, but to use it in addition of a workout, right ? 🙏 a lot

Love this video thanks Mathew. Really informative. I'm currently trying to recover from a chondromalacia patella injury and subsequent surgery to clean up a bit of frayed cartilage. I've been really struggling to get my quad and hamstrings to fire and am suffering from knee soreness and stiffness which seems linked to muscle atrophy. I've just invested in a Compex muscle stimulator after being advised by my physio. Literally a couple of days in and I'm already feeling positive effects. Your video has been really helpful in showing how to gradually increase the intensity and build over time. Thank you!

i can instantly feel relieve in my shoulder pain when straighten my back. but it took my a lot of time to understand how to correct the kyphosis which is located in the upper back because often people dont understand and extend their lower back and pull their shoulder back which creates the illusion of a straight back but the kyphosis is still untouched. its actually very hard to target the correct muscles. probably i am also activating my lower traps unconsciously which gives the scapula also more stability. could be that along with my kyphosis my lower traps were too inactive.

i just read those studies and they were done in healthy males. of course mobility wasnt increased, they already had mobility there. Cite a study on people who had fixated SI joints
@MathewHawkes
@MathewHawkes 3 ай бұрын
Why would they do a study on Sacroiliac joints that are fused? They obviously won't move and this is a natural part of ageing. The point being made is that people say that their SIJ moves all over the place when young and think it needs putting back I place but it simply doesn't move enough for this to be likely

How does it feel throwing a ball or playing tennis? I am just over two months into a myotendinous junction tear, and while overall direct strength is not that impacted, it feels weaker and at risk in a stretched position. I’d love to connect with you or anyone who has this injury on what to expect. I have seen doctors who say they could still repair it, but that seems to be fraught with risk and unknown recovery.

I worked at a med spa and men would ask for gabapentin and lidocaine when women would only get lidocaine and do really well, me included. I even did procedures while on my period when I’m most sensitive and didn’t have to stop any. So out of ALL the pts we saw, trust me, women have the highest pain tolerance, not men.
@sieg6635

And i dont know why but it seems to me that when people touch on this subject especially when they talk about period pain as ive seen with the sort of tool that simulates it on men, in general women handle it better than men and because of that women tend to assume that women handle pain better than men and to me when some women says that i feel like they have some contempt towards men like the comment above. I feel like today theres some type of gender war where men and women get further apart by all of this feminist bullshit, i love women and thinks that this gender war is completly stupid because every society need men and women no societies has been built only by men nor women and were made to live together thats why i get more pissed with that nonsense. Btw if my girlfriend has her period i would try to support her and not dismiss what she feels.
