One of my first 5th doctor stories, loved this script.

Probably the most horrifying way for the Doctor to die: Technically still alive, with everyone thinking he's delusional and unintentionally giving him a slow and painful end. Is it any surprise that Eight ends up traumatized from his regeneration?

The Myrka was played by Dobbin the horse from Rent-a-Ghost. his career went down hill after this and he took to doing drugs in the stables at the back of the Blue peter garden.

With the state of things in 2024, I think I might have given Sutekh's 1980 a go. Anyone else getting out?

I was looking for the scene where Tom's Doctor shows Sutekh this same destruction and congratulates him one becoming the master of nothing. But it wasn't on Tubi. Did it get cut? And at which point of the story did it appear in?

Great scene, but the doctor did just create a timeline with death and suffering purely to make a point
@harryc19717 ай бұрын
or is it a fixed point of divergence, Sarah-Jane's 1980 was just a possible outcome this was another. Timey wimey stuff? Are Time Lords prevented from all interference, or just preventing catastrophic divergence from natural order?

Did he do that on purpose? If so it doesn't seem very cool of a good guy to do that. He could have just exited.

One cannot stress how much the producers wanted to kill McCoy in this film. He gets shot multiple times amidst a gang war mere moments after leaving the TARDIS, then gets killed on an operating table during exploratory heart surgery whilst he begs for his life. No Doctor got a less dignified end than this (in universe, Colin's firing and subsequent ham-fisted regeneration was definitely the least dignified from a production standpoint) and the sad part is that the Doc probably could have survived this without even regenerating if they'd just let him be. Patch up his leg and shoulder and he'd be fine, but they just HAD to go rooting around in his organs!

True but it is one of my favourite doctor deaths. The grand chessmaster, the one who started off as a spoon playing clown, opens the Tardis and gets shot immediately. The wounds weren't even fatal as the Doctor can survive gunshot wounds. But he gets taken into an american hospital and gets poked and prodded while they blunder about in his alien physiology. He dies alone and screaming by something that could've been avoided. Guess it's revenge for all he did while 7.

I’m extremely forgiving of all effects in Classic Doctor Who… except this one. This one is embarrassing. Fortunately, it’s a crap story anyway so it’s not spoiling anything.

I like how this is the only time that the 3rd Doctor is in the same area as the Cybermen. Sad that throughout all of Pertwee's run as the Doctor, the showrunners did not include the Cybermen but had enough room for the Daleks
