Cut off the bottom plastic. Leave it in the dirt or substrate. And it’ll carpet. You never have to touch it ever again. This is the secret plant sellers don’t teach noobs ☝️

2 air-stones 2 waterfall filters is wayyy to overkill for “oxygen”

I have always wanted an outdoor pond but never knew how to build one. Since watching your channel I’ve now from today have a pond with a bog filter. In a few days I will be going to buy my fish, I can’t wait to get them in! Thank you so much for showing me an easy way to have a beautiful pond 🥰🥰🥰🥳🥳🥳

Love your videos. I have a question. Do I need to make my bog filter 15% of the total gallons or of the surface area. My pond is around 4000 gallons.
@lisanetgark41523 күн бұрын
I have a pond and have upgraded 3 times. One point of improvement for you to implement. Your filter is too close to the waterfall. When you get the chance move your filter and water intake to the opposite end of the pond and place at the bottom. You will then be able to filter and most importantly move the entire pond water system. You do not want dead zones of stagnant water. You will be amazed on how bright and disease free your pond water will become.

weird question but why not use the jigsaw for cutting the deck out? also very odd you put pavers down for the bog filter but not the pond itself. seems like a lot of this was planned as you were going. i mean it looks great but also staining all the boards before putting them on would mean the whole board is more protected to last longer.

You really made a stock pond form very lovely. Such a great budget example for others.

I want to ship you a pointed shovel good sir. It would make digging that pond a breeze lol. Fantastic looking ponds though, that bog filter is going to be a powerhouse. Great choice of plants too, good use of that corner space too🎉

You would want the " floaty" hose to keep floating , so it doesn't get settled in the effluent. 🤟💚

@gingerfishy hey I have a question that liner that you bought does it have to be in the ground I guess what I'm asking is that the plastic or rubber feel thick enough that if you were to put it just inside the house as a standalone pond would it break I'm considering getting one of these small ponds as a feature inside the house??
@GingerFishyOfficialАй бұрын
Hi there! Unfortunately I don’t think it would be strong enough to be free standing. You’d have to strengthen the sides somehow otherwise I think it would bow out. You can get tubs that that are strong enough to be free standing though. 👍

The 2 black PVC pipes ruin the look. Perhaps some way to hide them.

Really nice build, I expected however that you would first go through the mechanical filtration and then into the biological filtration before going back into the pond .

Wow, amazing you qre so lucky! Iit is beautiful!! The only thing i think missing is some small rocks/pebbles at the bottom of the pond, but there may be a reason for not doing this.

Is your submersible pump in the pond in a container or is it just placed in the pond?
@GingerFishyOfficialАй бұрын
Hi there, it’s in a container (pre-filter). You can see it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aou8ZqqVa96UgZosi=_GtVDX2NUxqzGRw-

My goldfish can't have a plant within 10 feet of their tank, so well done ! I have a 300 litre with 3 black moors ! My setup is simple, and a sand bottom with three large smooth pebbles in the centre. I've put a large airstone in between the rock, which creates airflow and a nice effect !

I know this is the proper way, but back in 70's we had hole in in ground, lined with concrete. Painted some blue rubberised paint. Put some water plants in pond. Then the five fairground goldfish from a bowl were dropped in. Probably cleaned ever 6 months. Fish over ten years survived winters, grew to 7 inches until some cat or bird had them over 3 days. Is all this pump and filters necessary? Knew nothing of filters back then.
@flybobbie1449Ай бұрын
Perhaps fairground fish were really hardy. I remember the tennis balls in winter, to squeeze and allow air through ice.
