Surely if a Heron is flying past, and see's another Heron stood by a pond, they'll think..."hmm must be some fish down there "!!

Great tips buddy! Just a small tip if you buy the fake heron... Try to change it's position around the pond like Every 2 days becouse they spot them and see that it is a fake one after a while

Thanks bro, and thanks for the tip! Have you had any issues with heron in the past? I know you net your pond!

Great tips man! I've also heard people say that tying CD's on strings or having a floating metallic ball help keep away herons. I'm not sure how though haha

Thanks man, I know you had some issues with heron in the past! Yeah, I think I’ve seen those metallic balls before, something to do with reflections or something… Hope the diggings going well! 🙌

很棒的技巧!我還聽說人們說將CD綁在琴弦上或擁有浮動金屬球有助於阻止蒼鷺。

#6 put it inside😆😆 These are great ideas for sure dude….and heron are one of the reasons we put ours inside in addition to so many other issues…..eagles and raccoons and hawks and cats and dogs and possum and snakes and all sorts of stuff…. Oh yeah snow….ice….etc….

Oh we forgot coyotes….we got lots of them around here too and apparently they will eat koi too 🤷🤷♂️🤷♀️

Haha, luckily we don’t have to deal with too many of those over here, just heron and maybe the odd cat! Hopefully if I sort the garage out, one day I can get an indoor pond too. Would be nice for the winter months!

Thank you for all of these tips . I have a Heron but he keeps falling over 😂. I really like your home made removable net. I wish that you had made a video about that. Handy people don't realise just how useless some of us are at DIY 😢😅😊

Haha 😂 I’ll be making a similar net for the new pond, so will show how I make it in more detail! 😊

@@GingerFishyOfficial Thank you, I will look forward to that video. Our spring has been so cold this year. Hopefully May will be warmer. I have my 3 goldfish indoors and I am looking forward to putting them into my pond when I have finished it.

In my experience, Alligator heads, pond plants, plastic herons, and aeration as Heron deterrents are ineffective!! Only thing guaranteed to word is physical barrier. I have tried the hosepipe deterrents with some success, and have read that electric fence works as Herons always approach from the edges, but have yet to try that…..
