Great video but the hardest bit I can't get to grips with is how you know where to place the probes. +ve and -ve fine but having one probe at the top of the board and the other at the bottom doesn't really mean anythng to me, have you followed the circuit board to do this? I think I need to learn a level or two below this and then come back to this video.

Does this test method apply to transistors installed on the PCB?
@electronictech785
@electronictech785 6 күн бұрын
yes, but you also have to take into consideration of circuits that are in parallel to the transistor which can lead to misreading.

Thank you, interesting and helpful. The background music however filled the empty spaces blending with your speech making it unnecessarily difficult to understand your words.

isn't one test is missing - Black Led on Base and Red on Collector and Multimeter should give you an "OL" Over limit reading

It's too slow. The video seems ad hoc, not planned or scripted. So there was nothing to troubleshoot, nothing to fix?

at 40:37 you were doing the calculation for AC peak-to-peak that's the voltage differential between the maximum positive and negative peaks. When you convert peak-to-peak into DC only the positive (and/or negative) charges remain from zero to peak(not "1"). You likely had the non peak-to-peak AC voltage and to calculate that is just "AC Voltage=DC Voltage"(Not counting for efficiency loss.).

Woah woah woah stop. Don't just replace capacitors if they might be old. LOOK at them if they say Rubycon, Chemi-Con, Nichicon, or Panasonic you might want to trust them. If you take out my completely fine Nichicons and replace them with Wonhunglows from ali express I'll be ticked.

You shouldn't measure diode bridges in-circuit they can be crossed with a transformer that may give you incorrect readings.

So, collector and emitter are giving me lecture (both positions), and I have a question, is it common that these type of of transistors manage the signal of 12 volts that activates the relay in order to make a motor work? By the way I already tested the relay and it is ok, but no 12v signal, suspicious #1 NPN transistor!

@@frescita7385 I don't believe that is what NDA are for. NDA would not prevent a prospect employer from verifying your work experience and employment history.
