If you're worried that your selflessness will end up costing you, then you aren't really being selfless at all. True goodness isn't about earning "virtue points". It's not a means to an end. It's an end in itself.

We are given with a purpose by Nature, the mighty driving force & its control mechanisms of the universe, it's biologically related & automatically working within us. That's to participate in DNA propagation through the craving for food, protection, love, romance & procreation. All the creatures participating in this system from start to end,, but humans have a highly sophisticated journey/ mission in accomplishing it peacefully in the presence of huge society system.

The kindest are usually exploited. The most talented are as well. But those who are WEALTHY (and powerful) enough can continue being empathetic, awesome, compassionate, etc. Sadly, most ain't flush with cash and connections. 😂 🐲✨🐲✨🐲✨ "Before I start, I must see my end. Destination known, my mind's journey now begins. Upon my chariot, heart and soul's fate revealed. In time, all points converge; hope's strength resteeled. Almost everybody is blind to the ying-yang nature of the Universe. For every(?) positive, there is a negative. There is a suspicion though that a small percentage, 1%? or 2%?, is neither positive nor negative. Energy and matter, but what about velocity?

I think the main character in this book is misunderstood by the Society of the Readers and YT!! The name of the book says it all: he is an idiot. It doesn’t say He is Good. The fact that he fails to learn, think, correct his misjudgments, Learn (again) … all points at the characteristic trait of an Idiot. And about the rest of the cast, remind you that this is a Story, it’s an Art, and therefore it has to create a caricature, beast and beauty, exaggerate the arm’s length etc. all to make an impression, an statement. To me, this guy did absolutely no good. His stupidity fueled the evils, or fed the external forces of the nature. And we all know what nature does. She is waiting to Recycle life, to decompose us sooner or later.

Good people do not prepare for life's challenges. They think that being good is in itself an insurance against unfavorable situations. As a result they do not organize themselves into groups. This leads to their isolation and ineffectiveness. Bad people on the other hand organize themselves into groups to ward off the consequences of their bad actions. In their organisation power does not rest with the leader, titular or elected or appointed. It rests with someone down the hierarchy who is in touch with peers in other organisations. These people wield the most power. Such is the organisation of the malevolent forces in our society and in the world. In our times innocence has been completely obliterated. People understand the benefits of being harmful and cruel. The consequences of such a state of affairs is the gradual degeneration of humanity in particular and of nature in general. Ditto means that evil will be subjected to the same actions that it has committed, but on a divine scale. Natural Justice is proportional, not equal. The dying Earth is the proof of it. People will tear each other apart for basic necessities. Those who actually rule mankind will eventually find that everything has been reduced into rubble. The rulers will turn against each other and that will be the end of humanity and the beginning of a sinful and evil existence because sin and evil has helped all the powerful people to come into power through history and that will never change. The world will gradually turn into hell. The End.

By always giving people infinite chances to change, putting others wants or desires above one’s own, and forgiving all wrongs without judgment ultimately leaves that individual in a position of a victim or martyr because it actually allows all of those same people’s lives to continue without learning because they can continue to take advantage the “good” person. And this is what causes him to go insane, it is like as “if I’m good enough others will appreciate me, change, and we will all prosper.” Yet when this never happens no matter how hard one tries, then they are unable to cope with reality.

There are many people in this world who devote their lives to caring for others. These are nearly always women who have been good wives and mothers and have shouldered the burden of caring for aged parents without getting anything in return. They more often than not get no reward and many become sick and die young because of all the stress.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

So, here's the deal; Loving kindness is the only answer to every situation. Fools self-protect... fools hide behind cunning. The world isn't realty... Dostoyevky was much too "in body"... too egoic...acting like this shallow little life is reflective of the trillions of lives each soul lives. Attaching to the earth...to people...and WORST to cultural norming... feeling shame for "allowing" others to trounce you verbally and physically is uttery folly. Dostoyevsky's idiot is the wisest man in this story. Be not afraid. Souls with epically long journies ahead of them seek power here... those who know love absolutely. My greatest hope is that, when you read "The Idiot," you rise above the short-sightedness of all the lessor characters and adopt Mishkin's everlong perspective.

I deeply appreciate everyone who has left comments and you for sharing this and taking the time to do so. From a young age, I grappled with the absurdity and meaninglessness of life-existential dread. However, it wasn’t until I lived longer, endured the loss of many loved ones, both family and friends, and faced the profound challenge of having a child in hospice-unable to walk or talk but still capable of expressing boundless love and hope through her smile-that I began to find deeper meaning. The kindness and support of compassionate people have profoundly inspired me and given me purpose. It’s so easy to want to escape, to get lost in one’s own suffering, anger, sadness, and loneliness. Yet, as long as suffering exists and I have the capacity to act, there is always potential to help others. Losing oneself in the pursuit of helping others has been truly transformative for me. It has provided a deeper sense of meaning and made this difficult journey, so far, profoundly worthwhile.

There is a fundamental difference between "Good" and setting no boundaries. Mishkin is not being good, he's just not setting boundaries and sacrificing himself. Being "good" or "pure" requires deep understanding of when to be loving, compassionate and supportive, but more importantly when not to. The idea of forgiveness is idiotic. Since the unjust act can never be undone, also the judgement of that act can never be undone. Therefor no one should ever forgive anyone for anything, only unless the unjust act can be fully reversed and compensated for.
