Oh man, exporting the Power Bins? That's clutch! I've wanted to do that for a while! Remember when after doing an update, Resolve would mysteriously LOSE your power bins? I do... and so does Pepperidge Farms.

Love it. Got an Idea for a Tutorial. Just Purchased a M4 Mac mini (little one). Been running DR Studio for 4 years on an ASUS Gaming Laptop. I have 8 Libraries with Untold Projects/Time lines. 2 questions 1.) how do I easily get Access to these on the new machine? How do I make my NEW Machines DR Studio Look & Act exactly like the why it's on the Old Machine. Really want to be able to use Both machines interchangeably.

Hey! Congrats on the new machine! Those M4's look great, I might get one too. I'm still on an old M1. To get your libraries onto the new machine, all you have to do is create a database (project library) backup, then bring that backup to the new machine and restore the backup. Everything should be there. As for making Resolve the same on the new computer as it is on the old computer - for project settings you can save and export the presets. Then import them on the new machine. For the preferences, you can also save a preset, then import that preset into the new computer's Resolve. Otherwise you've got to match things up if there's other stuff that's missing. Might take little setup time. If you want to work interchangeably, the easiest way is going to be to put your libraries on the BMD Cloud. Then it will be seamless between computers. Otherwise you'll next to export project files from one computer and import them on the other and just keep going back and forth. Honestly, you're better off just sticking with the mac and doing everything there. Hope this helps! Best for luck with the new machine!

Thanks Jason I forgot about the Back ups (damn Alzimers/Old Timers) Anyway I'm more Interested in Tinkering with my setup than Editing. Just Glutt'n fer Punishment. I don't do all that 'Casey Faris' stuff. the reason I purchased is when I did down load a Really Complec .dpa file it would tak 2 days to render. Broke it into 5 parts and rendered them Indivudily but my CPU/GPU temps were running 94C to 97C. That scared me. Anyways gota go spend some more money ay Best Buy/Amason. Need a new Monitor and a QOLED 55" TV.

Quick question, when I right click on "Master" in my power bins, "Export Power Bins" isn't even there as an option. Do you happen to know why that would be? EDIT: I think it's because I'm on 18.1.4. I want to update but I have a lot of bins I don't want to lose. Guess I have to find a different way to do it

Hey! Yeah, I think you need to update the version of resolve. That version is a few versions ago.

Right clicked on "MASTER" in Power Bins, saved in a NEW folder I created in C: drive under DR 18, folder named "Power Bins Backup". (Right clicked on MASTER and saved in this folder ). Went back to DR program and deleted the Power Bin Folder "Master" that I just exported to the folder in C: drive. Then "import Bin" saved MASTER file back to DR Power Bins. BUT it was a completely diff. folder. A folder that is name CAW. But isn't in any of the C: DR Folders ? I have no idea how or why but did the same exact process twice with same results. Creating a NEW folder and export to that folder is a straight forward process, something in DR 18.6 must be doing this, not win. 11. Any ideas? Really need to backup Power Bins once I start building it. Wouldn't this have been great if it had 6 mo. of Bins and didn't save?

That's strange, It should work, I don't see any reason it would give you a different random folder....

Does NOT sync image files, only video files.

Seems like you're right - but it works with videos files and audio files from my tests. Just not images, which is odd. Not sure if that's a glitch or it's suppose to be like that. 🤔

Hey! You can add an effect to an adjustment layer and then put that in a power bin.
