What can be used instead of egg (for dairy free alternative)
@RecipeswithLiz27 күн бұрын
Hey! I haven't tried this, but if you're looking for an egg substitute, you could use a flour and water batter as a binder or vegan mayo before coating it in breadcrumbs.

So do you leave the jars in the water at a full boil for 1 hr 25 minutes? Thanks in advance.

Hello. Is it safe to assume that this recipe calls for one whole butternut squash? Can you specify about how many cups of squash would complement the rest of the ingredients listed? Thank you.

An hour, twenty minutes? I hope that was just a commentary error. Generally water bath is 40 minutes.

I've had mine for 15 years now and it still runs brand new! I am so spoiled by it! My ex didn't even know i had one and I saw her kill 3 blenders(2 osters and 1 ninja) within the 5 years we were together. Whereas, my vitamix just stayed in storage waiting patiently for me(who appreciates quality). It's not that I didnt want her using it, I just had it tucked away in storage! Glad too, because she stole my food processor and other cookware(family cast iron set) and I was so glad I didn't let her know I had it! Now it's just me and my good ole' Vitamix, a new food processor, 5.5L glass enameled dutch oven, and new stainless cookware! Been cooking every day since! I love it! My cooking journey shall commence! I'll never let a woman kick me out of the kitchen again(she got jealous because I was cooking nothing but vegan recipes and they were kicking!). Thank you for the review! I highly recommend getting one! Game changer for sure!

Question for the veteran canners here: is it normal to have a little residue of tomato on the outside of the jar after pulling it out of the water bath? This has been the case with my first attempts at this method, even though the lids sealed and theres air space inside the jars. Why is this?
@christophermorrow44397 ай бұрын
The jars don't fully seal until they sit for a while. As they cool down, hot air escapes and eventually - if you're standing around them - you'll hear the lid pop. While they're in the water bath, you'll notice air bubbles escaping from the jar into the water, so if there are tomatoes in the jars some of that material is likely to escape.

Good looking tomatoes Liz. But I just use them all, including the big ones. And any color. Where's your salt? And use a wooden spoon to get the air bubbles out. Never metal. Beautiful!

Great video. But you should never use metal, Like a spoon, On the inside of your jar because it could actually scratch it. And the jar might break if you use it for pressure canning. Just to heads up. Your tomatoes look beautiful!
